    • Maybe I revived a faulty one
I received mine and attempted to break it in and season the crucible. After break in as it was working good and very easy to use. I began to try and smelt some copper. The unit reached the melting point of copper and stayed for about 2 minutes and I noticed the temp falling. Still having the temp set at the proper temp the furnace continued to cool and never heated again ... show more

    • Arrived and would not turn on
Unit arrived and after connecting to power and turning on the display never turned on. Tried various things and never power on with the unit turned on. Could not set temperature so it was useless.

Terrible material. I have the metal melting furnace. When I turn it on, the temperature readout only shows HHHHHH. There is no heat produced.

Being 110v makes this furnace easy for anyone to use, just plug it in. The control panel is nice and the furnace holds its temperature well. First thing I did was melt down old gold jewelry we have collected over the years and this little furnace worked great. With common sense it is safe, so safe my wife has some projects she wants to try out next. I think this was a good buy and I am happy I picked it up. 5 STARS ... show more

Pros: Ultra temperature stable. It stays within a degree of what you set. That's impressive. Very high quality PLC. Very easy to use controls. You plug it in, turn it on, set the temp and wait. The groove crucible system is very safe. The instructions are fine. They make sense. Has a little table of melting Temps. Build quality is pretty decent. Heavy power cord. Doesn't get hot. Comes with gloves, pliers, mold. The gloves are pretty big. Well packaged, no damage. External temperature isn't very high. The insulation is crazy good. You can actually touch it without your flesh melting off. It's not cool, but you won't stick to it. Cons: The lid doesn't go all the way back to the resting position. I had to trim a little piece off to get it to work. It would just fall back down until I did that. Overall, it's very good. It's easy to use. A beginner can do this easily.
