This is an outstanding product with excellent quality controls throughout. After several months use, I will need to use the special citrus cleaning method according to the product guidelines. That is a small price to pay given the convenience of the water set at correct temperature and ready at the hour one chooses. No wasted electricity. Person can choose to boil water and cool down or I choose what is best for making pour-over coffee for example. I choose the heating option to one of four temperature settings but no boiling just simply heating and holding when the chosen temperature is reached. This company makes great products and we naturally migrate to them for our kitchen purchases. We have multiple travel thermos, a 5-cup coffee maker, a rice cooker and our water boiler. My old one has some rust in the tank so I buy a new one to replace it, but the new one comes in taller, it has pro and cons, you can put taller glasses but if you use shorter glass, you need to bring up closer to the dispenser or the hot water will be splash out

It takes some getting used to but works very well. I wish it had a clock type setting to turn it on at a specific time and it it heats slowly but it is a pleasure and nearly perfect to use. I just set the timer start to 8 hours when I go to bed and have enough hot water for the two of us throughout the morning then sometimes refill once again for the evening cooking and tea. No off flavors and easy to clean/maintain. If you made it this far you should get one. ... show more
