  • King size Malm (ikea) + sleep number mattress + these slats = :)
Size: King Pattern Name: Wood Slat
I bought a king size Malm bed from ikea and didn’t feel their slat options would be supportive enough, so I ordered this. Honestly the box arrived a bit damaged, but everything inside was for the most part okay. The slats were super easy to assemble, I did it all by myself and it was pretty fast and simple. I had purchased a Zinus bed previously and was happy that the assemble of these slats was just as simple and easy. These fit inside the Malm bed, but it’s not as snug as I wanted it to be, so I actually cut a chunk of styrofoam from another package we had ordered and placed it in the gap between the metal frame of this and the edge of the bed frame. It works great, and will hopefully keep it from sliding, moving, or anything if the sort. I’d rather have it have extra space that needs filled than be too big and not fit, so no complaints. We have an old sleep number mattress, and these slats seem to be supportive enough. I know it’s not made for that kind of mattress, and technically the slats aren’t as close as is recommended, but finding something supportive enough, other than putting down straight up plywood, is tough. This does the job. The mattress is old, so I’m not worried about the warranty—I think technically the slats should be two inches apart or closer? This is over two but less than three (I didn’t measure). Using these slats with our sleep number mattress hasn’t been an issue. We’ve been sleeping on the combo for about a week and it’s nice and comfy! The slats at first seemed maybe a little flimsy? But once we put the mattress on, it feels nice and solid. I’m glad we purchased! ... show more

  • Excellent Quality & Easy to Assemble
Size: King Pattern Name: Wood Slat
I purchased this to replace a cheap wood slat-and-tape situation that had fallen apart. This was the perfect size and price, so I purchased. It was very easy for my husband and I to assemble in about 30 minutes. The frame has sturdy velcro siding to keep the slats in place and protect your mattress from popping through any irregular openings between slats. The spaces between the slats are also under 3 inches, necessary to keep our mattress warranty active. ... show more

  • Loft dwellers look no further!
I buy a lot on Amazon and rarely write reviews, but I'm breaking character today because I think these frames are wonderful, and I want people to know about them. I was looking for a super-minimal frame in a loft with very little headroom, to get two twin mattresses off the floor to prevent mold. This frame ticks all the boxes for me. Bottom line: -Very simple, minimalist design. I think it actually takes a lot of work and design iterations to make something this simple and do it well. -All the support and air circulation your mattress needs with only a few inches of added thickness. Great for lofts and other low-clearance/sloped ceiling bedrooms! -These frames are sturdy and well built. They don't creak even a little bit, and provide good support along the entire mattress. -The edges of the frames line up nicely with the edges of the mattress - so if you need to pull two together to make a larger bed, that will work just fine. -Lots of little thoughtful details, like rounded corners and edges, and joints that fit together snugly. Neither you nor your bed linens will catch on anything. -Simple, straightforward, well written directions, with increasingly rare niceties like proper spelling and punctuation, subject/object agreement and idiomatic consistency. These details may seem trivial, but in a world where technical writing is increasingly outsourced to non-native speakers, those of us who assemble a lot of furniture will find these instructions refreshingly welcome. -Other nice features: industrial strength velcro holds the slats in place (IKEA could learn from this) and then pre-placed high-tack friction tape keeps the mattress from slipping. Genius! And the little ratchet tool they give you for tightening the bolts feels like a solid tool. Really nice touch. I really can't find any negatives - though I only just finished assembling them, and may have more to say after a few months of use, though I predict these will stand the test. Nice job, folks! Cheers. ... show more

  • Great Bunkie for mattress in a box
Size: Full Pattern Name: Wood Slat
Purchase for a college student apartment to support her mattress in a box. Assembly was fairly straightforward. Assemble in minutes. I liked there was tools included including a ratchet. That was really a plus for not needing to open my tool bag to assemble. The slats were assembled in two groups and connected with velcro making for easy assembly, no movement of the slats and easy disassembly, movement, and storage when as have to move the student at the end to the semester. Support of the mattress in a box, the student is still raving the comfort and support of the bunkie, no noise, nor slat movement. I would have given this bunkie 5 stars however the packing and shipping were the worse, every zip-tie holding the metal support were snapped, every box seal and plastic wrap was broken. When I opened the box everything just fail out as if there were no packing. I had to correct a couple of pieces of the frame that were bent. However it did not prevent the frame from being assembled it cost time and if would have had the bunkie shipped to the student's apartment for her to assemble she would not have been able to get that done. SO, I recommend this product and highly recommend if packaging and shipping issues are resolved. ... show more

  • Easy 5 Stars!
Size: Full Pattern Name: Wood Slat
I don't hand out 5 star reviews often, almost never. This was an excellent experience! I purchased this frame to convert my existing full size frame, so I could lower the height of the bed for my mother, which recently broke her hip. The package arrived very quickly in excellent condition. I used a razor blade to cut along the tape, length wise, to open the box on the ground, instead of opening an end and pulling everything out. I found that to be the best way to do it, for me, as all the pieces were visible and clearly marked, as it sat in the open box on the floor. The Zinus numbering system is great! I didn't even need to look at the directions, except to verify inventory. Just match the numbers and assemble. I found it easier to start by laying one of the long rails on top of my existing frame and assemble in place. This allowed me, not only to keep the Zinus rails in place, but also verify sizing - which was a perfect fit in my case! Zinus makes assembly simple! They even included a mini ratchet along with the allen wrench, so no need for any other tools. I found the hardware included was excellent quality, already pre-fitted with washers and lock washers to keep the frame nice and tight, when assembled properly. It comes with two sets of pre-folded wooden slats that are already fitted with pre-positioned velcro fasteners. What could be easier! All you have to do is line up the first slat with the velcro, already in place, on one end of the frame; it doesn't matter which end, then move down the frame to the center, applying each slat in place. Each group of slats are held in alignment with one long strip of velcro, along each end of the slats. So, their is no measuring, no fuss. In a few minutes, it was all assembled! A few extra tips: 1. My original frame was a 3/4 frame, so it's not all boxed in for this insert to sit on top of. I just drilled one pilot hole on each side of the foot end of my existing frame, then used one self tapping metal screw, to secure the frame and the insert in place. This is only a safety precaution to prevent the new metal insert from sliding forward on top of the existing frame. I'm not sure this would ever happen, but better safe than sorry. 2. When placing the second set of slats down, I started at the other end of the insert frame and worked my way to the middle. Alignment of the slats came out perfect! Just don't forget to step out from the middle of the insert frame, to place the last slat in place! Zinus also includes detailed instructions, along with a couple extra bolts, which I did not need to use! The quality, simplicity and intuitive design easily earns this product 5 stars. I really couldn't be happier! ... show more

  • Perfection
Size: Full Pattern Name: Wood Slat
Easy to put together, did it in 30mins without using the instructions. Fit the bed perfectly. Very sturdy! Perfect height for turning my toddlers bed into a full bed without the fall risk!

  • Well made and easy to assemble
Size: Full Pattern Name: Wood Slat
I bought the full-size model to complete my daughter's crib-to bed conversion kit, and it was the perfect solution. I didn't want to use a box spring since it would have made the bed higher than I wanted and this fit the bill perfectly. The frame is very well-made, sturdy and designed to last. I especially like the velcro on the sides so that the slats do not move and make noise like so many others. Assembly was a breeze and made even easier with the included mini socket. I wish more manufacturers would include those. Makes life so much easier. The quality is outstanding, and I have no doubt this will provide support for years to come. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Almost perfect - but measure first!
Size: Queen Pattern Name: Wood Slat
I needed a low-profile bunkie board to provide additional support for my queen latex mattress, sitting on a poster bed frame that has just 4 slats. Overall it was extremely easy to put together and it seems like it will fit my needs well. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. Measure, measure, measure! My only warning is to make sure your bedframe will support the bunkie board. I have the bunkie board sitting on the existing slats, as without them the frame for the bunkie board would only barely sit on the inside lip of the bed frame. If you want this to replace your existing bed slats, make sure the bunkie board will fit properly inside the frame. The slats are approximately 2.75 inches apart, so they are nice and close and provide a lot of support. Overall, quality and installation are excellent. Everything is extremely well labeled and it took me exactly 23 minutes to put together by myself, including unboxing and reading instructions. On a scale of 1 to 10, difficulty is maybe a 2 at most. I can summarize the instructions: 1. Attach the two opposite corners of the bed frame, both labeled 1. Requires a total of 2 bolts, for which they provide both a handy ratcheting tool and an allen wrench. 2. Attach the two remaining opposite corners of the bed frame, both labeled 2. This is where I encountered my only difficulty, as they wouldn't quite line up and slide together without a couple of bangs from a hammer. Requires a total of 2 bolts. 3. Attach the cross brace for the frame. Requires a total of 4 bolts. Congrats! You are completely done screwing bolts! 4. Lay out the wooden slats on the frame, which adhere via velcro strips. It's an extremely elegant solution and the velcro kept the slats firmly in place even while I was carrying the bunkie board vertically into the bedroom. 5. Lay the bunkie board on the bed frame. Remove the 2 nonslip strips on the slats and lay your mattress on top. 6. Have a beer on your new bed. Good luck! This definitely seems like a worthwhile purchase. ... show more
