Description

Enjoy pure-tasting water with the latest filter pitcher technology. ZeroWater 10 cup pitcher features a one-handle pull and pour spout to fill any bottle or cup easily. The underneath water filter assembly ensures waster passes through the filter and not around the filter. Space-saving design ensures easy fit in any refrigerator. The ZeroWater filtration system combines five sophisticated technologies that work together to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your tap water, delivering you great tasting water. This 10-cup system comes with, our patented ion exchange filter, a laboratory-grade water testing meter and a guarantee to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your tap water. ZeroWater first layer of filtration, activated carbon and oxidation reduction alloy removes the chlorine taste you are accustom to with tap water. The ion exchange stage removes virtually all dissolved solids that may be left over from public water systems or even leached into your water from piping such as aluminum, lead, zinc, Nitrate and more. Three additional stages are included to remove other impurities and to ensure your water receives the appropriate amount of treatment time to deliver a "000" reading on your laboratory-grade total dissolved solids meter included. Certified to reduce lead, chromium and mercury. The FDA requires the total dissolved solids (TDS) level in purified bottled water to reach 000-010 ppm. ZeroWater is the only water filter in its class to achieve this level.

  • 6 years of less-than-gentle handling - excellent quality!
I don't typically write product reviews, but after 6 years of less-than-gentle use of this product by yours truly, I felt like a review was deserved.. so here we go! I first purchased this product in December 2014 and have used it on a daily basis since then (JUST ordered a second one a few days ago as my original finally sustained a crack after being dropped onto the tile floor for probably the 12th time.. and I should clarify that the dropping of the filter has everything to do with my clumsy nature and nothing to do with the handling ability of the filter itself). As an athlete and coffeeholic, I tend to go through a lot of water on a daily basis. This filter puts up with my daily, rough handling with ease, and the quality of the water it yields is excellent. There is no off-flavor or odor or any taste at all really, just pure water. I am also a fairly lazy person when it comes to maintenance of products, and I am happy to report that this product is about as low-maintenance as it gets. I typically just give it a quick gentle wash whenever I replace the filter, and that's about it! As for the frequency of filter replacement, that will likely depend on the quality of the tap water where you live. I have used this product while living in areas with moderately "hard" water and typically go months between filter changes. The included water probe is an excellent way to know when it's time to replace the filter, just check it every now and then and replace when it's over 6. Or, if you're like me and forget to check, you'll eventually start to notice a slight flavor to the water (almost like if you didn't get all the soap rinsed out of your water bottle), which will be your cue to check with the probe and, sure enough, it's time to replace the filter. Back when I first looked into purchasing this product, I saw some reviews describing issues with the product leaking in the fridge through the easy-pour spout at the bottom of the filter. Because of those reviews, I was nervous at first to use that spout for fear of the product developing a leak; however, over time I became less and less concerned with this possibility and used the spout when necessary. I say "when necessary" because using the little spout takes longer than just pouring from the top of the filter like you would from a pitcher. So I typically only use the spout when pouring into a bottle with a narrow opening or when needing water while the filter is actively filtering water from the upper basin (because although you can technically pour filtered water from the product while it is actively filtering water from the upper basin, you run the possibility of the lid of the filter falling off and water (both filtered and not-yet-filtered) spilling everywhere. As someone who has experienced this, I typically wait to pour from the filter until there is no longer water in the upper basin (typically takes less than 5 minutes for a full basin of water to be processed) and always place a hand on the top of the filter to anchor down the lid "just in case"). I am happy to report that I have never had any leaking issues with the product in the fridge (other than the one it developed a few days ago from its most recent drop and sustaining a crack). I'll also comment on the size/capacity of the product - In my opinion, it is ideal. Any larger and it would take up too much space in the fridge, any smaller and it would be impractical due to how often it would need to be refilled. With how it's designed, the majority of the size of the product is actual usable capacity. As I mentioned already, it can filter a basin's worth of water in under 5 minutes which means that even if its capacity isn't quite enough to fill whatever it is you're filling, you'll be able to have more filtered water available in just a few minutes (or even sooner if you use the little easy-pour spout at the bottom). I've also never had an issue with it tipping over in the fridge, and I store it on the top rack in the fridge. The product itself is quite durable. By no means have I been gentle with my use of this filter - I use it every morning to fill the kettle for coffee and am not exactly fully awake when doing so, I hurriedly yank it from the fridge to fill a water bottle before rushing off to a game, and I blindly grope for it in the fridge when needing a 3am chug of water.. This filter can handle it all. As I've mentioned, I've even dropped it many times over the years and only just had it actually crack due to a fall. As for cons, I really don't have one... the only thing I could think of would be a way to have the lid truly lock down onto the product to eliminate the risk of it falling off while actively pouring.. but again, simply placing your other hand over the lid (like you would when pouring hot water from a kettle) takes care of that. So, TLDR - Excellent quality, very durable, ideal size/capacity, and has stood the test of time and rough handling ... show more

  • The Secret of Filter Longevity
Some have complained their filters do not last long enough. I believe I have a solution: When I was a teenager with nothing else to do, I went to the public swimming pool every day. In my boredom, I decided on an experiment: I showered after the pool, but did not wash my hair. I discovered the chlorine left a thick, gummy residue making it nearly impossible to comb my hair. With that in mind, we fill our water filters with water from two pitchers we leave sitting out, uncovered, at least 8 hours. This allows the chlorine in the water to evaporate before going through the filter. Result: We bought our Zero Water pitcher in mid April 2017. Our tap water reads 050. Our filtered water still reads 000. Today is June 25th. I will update this review whenever our filter finally needs replacing. Meanwhile, I'm requesting other owners to try my experiment and reply to this review when you have determined if evaporating the chlorine before filling your filter pitcher makes a difference in how long your filters last. Thanks. To respond to other complaints: 1. The filter leaks: My wife installed the filter. It leaked. I tightened it per the instructions and it stopped leaking. If your filter leaks, you didn't tighten it properly. 2. The water takes forever to go through the filter: I noticed the top of the filter was blocked by air bubbles. I used a little thin plastic spoon to gently chase the bubbles around and make them "pop" through the membrane. I was very careful not to damage the membrane. The water then drained through the filter properly. 3. The carbon filter stuff is getting into the top chamber: So what? That's pre-filter. It is not pretty, but it does not matter. You don't have a problem unless you have pieces of filter in the bottom chamber. Ignore it. We also bought the larger tank for the fridge. A full ZeroWater pitcher perfectly fills the upper chamber on the tank. We are using the recommendations of another reviewer who runs the water through the smaller pitcher to fill the larger tank. This extends the life of the filters. When the filter in the tank needs replacing, he moves it to the pitcher. That performs a pre-filtering for the newer filter in the tank, extending the life of the tank filter. Great idea. With that said, do not misunderstand. Our pitcher filter has been used the most since we drink from it as well as from the tank, and we use it to fill the tank. And yet it is still reading 000. Since you have read this far, you win a free magic trick! We are big fans of the Carbonaro Effect, and I figured out a Carbonaro-style trick with our fridge tank. When you are going to have company over, fill the tank to the top and when the lower chamber is full, fill the upper chamber to the top, too, and put in the fridge. When setting the table for dinner, ask Aunt Gullible to fill the water glasses. As she is doing so, explain how the filter fills itself by extracting the moisture from the air in the fridge, and how this helps prevent mold growth in the fridge. After dinner, remind Aunt Gullible to check the filter to see if it is full yet. She knows nobody has gone near the fridge, and will be astonished to see the filter is full again, or at least, refilled substantially. ... show more

  • Essential Minerals
The product does what it's supposed to do, which is fine. However, I find that other online comments directed at Zero Water mention the need to insure that one consider adding to their diet those food items, or vitamins if necessary, that contain essential minerals that are otherwise removed from the Zero Water filtration system. I thought this was good to know. We do that already do that. The literature I received with the system does not mention that. Perhaps they disagree, or assume we all receive essential minerals through our food sources. So it's not only the cost of the system, or the cost of replacement filters as needed that are of utmost importance to me. We drink an above average amount to tea and coffee, and this system at least provides a crystal clear water source for that purpose, let alone normal drinking of water. ... show more

  • Fast and efficient.
I live full tiime in my RV and I never know what kind of water I will be hooked up too, that being said I'm leaving my Berkey behind and going with ZeroWater. Cleaner tasting water, makes water faster and at the rate I use water about $100 a year in filters. There was a water tester included with purchase and you can really get a good idea of the quality of the water going into your body. My 10 cup pitcher will fill up in about an hour or less it takes filling the the top twice to fill pitcher each about 30 minutes so not that bad the only thing I would change would be to buy a bigger size to hold more water. ... show more
