  • Much better than I expected
I kind of got this on a whim, figuring it couldn't be that much better than just shaking my model paints by hand. I was wrong. This gadget is excellent. It's simple to use, works very well, and mixes the paints perfectly. I've got it on a wood-veneer desk, so the suction cup feet don't work work particularly well. Not a problem with the suction cups - of course they don't work well on wood! But it doesn't 'walk around' as much as you might think when it's running, and you can actually sort of steer it to keep it in place. This was an excellent purchase, and I use it daily. Much recommended. ... show more

  • Great value option for use with paints for miniatures
This is solid, doesn't vibrate too much even on a folding plastic table. 15 seconds and a quick 3 second shake is much better than shaking by hand for 45-60 seconds. For more stubborn paints like fully separated Army Painter Speedpaint Metallics 3 times at different angles at 20 seconds each with a quick shake between does the trick. Most of my paints have a pair of mixing balls in them also. It comes with some, but I used my own that I know for a fact wont rust. For hobbyists you don't need to pay more this one is good and reliable. ... show more

  • Good for Mixing Citadel and Army Painter Paints
One Year Update 3/9/2023 I’ve been using this for a year now, and it still works fine. It has a tendency to ‘walk’ on my hobby table when in use. For heavy acrylic hobby paints like metallics or some Army Painter paints, it’s best to use it for up to 60 seconds straight. I’ll also switch the bottle’s position as I use it. I still recommend it however. The product works really well; I add Army Painter stainless steel mixing balls to most of my paints, and I think this helps the mixing machine do an even better job. It’s not very noisy, and it’s a relatively inexpensive alternative to the Vortex mixer. Really viscous hobby paints such as metallics don’t get the thorough mixing I’d like, however. If this machine ever breaks I might try a different style. ... show more

  • Good and sturdy
Very strong motor only issue was the case for the mixing bearings broke in transit so there was a hundred ball bearings in box with machine if you order I would suggest buying the bearings on a separate order just in case

  • Not bad
I think this is pretty much the same thing as like the crazy 140 dollar ones. Like none of them are really that great honestly. They don't do the magic that I thought they would. Even with a steel ball, thick paints are just too viscous for these things to do very much, you still kinda have to physically shake your paints but the way I look at it is I have to shake them less now and am probably doing a more thorough mixing, I think, but...I dont have to exert myself as much, however you do shake the absolute bejezus out of your hand which also, as a scientific fact, is not good for your fingers so........that's why I waited on one of these for so long but I will say this, it sits on my desk and when I go for a paint, I give it a few shakes then I use this thing, then I give a few more shakes....its like a whole ritual. I probably got the best shaken paints in town! But anyhow, I digress. In conclusion, so you're tired of shaking paints when your paint is drying out and your shoulder and elbow kinda feel uncomfortable when you're shaking paint bottles so you went to check amazon for a vortex mixer, saw that they were crazy expensive and then you were like hmm...what about this thing for like 50 bucks?.....is it as good? Well, yes, but you're still gonna have to shake your paints, just not as much and you know if you don't get it, you're just gonna keep thinking about it until you do get it, so you should probably just get it cause then you can be like "yea I got one of those vortex mixers.....whats that? Yea, it works okay" But anyways, you know you should just be working on your NMM instead of looking at vortex mixers on amazon. How are you ever gonna get as good as Angel Hiraldez when you're just wasting time aquiring new miniature painting gear. ... show more

  • Best customer service ever encountered.
At first, being dissatisfied with a defective mixer, I contacted the company about the problem. They responded very quickly, and not only did they replace the unit, but they replaced with an upgraded model. Based on their customer service and the new product received I have nothing but good things to say about this company, and how they treat their customers. Buy with confidence! Update: I’ve been using the mixer for various size bottle, glass and plastic, and it works very well. I found it speeds things up if you drop a small mixing ball into the bottle as well. Also, placing a small towel over the top of the mixer helps steady the bottles on the mixer cup. Again, very happy with the mixer. ... show more

  • Great for mixing mini paints.
First off, when the mixer arrived, I could feel the weight. It felt like a product that was made 50 years ago, in a good way. When you hold a product, you can tell by feel whether it's a quality product or not. Previous mixers I've owned felt cheap and lightweight; this mixer just felt like it was going to be a quality product. Placing it on my desk, the suction cup feet held extremely well. No vibrating all over the desk. It was quieter than I expected as the others I've owned were very loud. I'm not sure how much easier some of the more expensive mixers can mix your bottles of paint but this one works great. Another benefit of this mixer vs others is that you don't have to worry about getting your paint bottle just right in order for it to operate. You can hit it on an angle or hold your bottle pretty much any direction and it will turn on. I'm usually not this excited with a product so trivial as a vortex mixer, but I have nothing but good things to say about this one. ... show more
