Top Amazon Reviews

  • Stellar!
Size: 1060 Sq.in
Summary: Great quality first smoker, and I'm a huge skeptic. Long-winded review: Have a lot of info to give, so here goes; Bought this smoker after doing heavy research, reading reviews, poring through forums, and even talking to dozens of people. The facts that it comes with a cover and was deliverable by Amazon were huge bonuses. Box arrived in great shape, all pieces and parts accounted for and intact, straight. Assembly was somewhat tedious, but easy. I was able to assemble the entire smoker by myself - Quick tip: flex the big box, while tipping the cooking chamber back, to sneak the lid open and remove all packing and parts, then assemble the stand before taking the cooking chamber out of the box. This makes things way easier and much lighter, and the cooking chamber then sets immediately on the stand after removing the shipping brace. I like this smoker design because it has the extra shelf out front - VERY handy! Shelves and main grate are all counter-height, not something you find on all smokers. (Usually they are a lower height, which is not as natural feeling.) Basic settings, basic controls, well-built, seems to be very durable, is very stable and secure. Cover fits well, is set up with eyelets to use bungee cords or to install your own drawstring to secure the cover to the smoker. (Although the cover is custom fit, so eyelets will only need to be used for high wind areas.) Timing of this purchase for me was to smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving. I ordered early, smoked a big whole roaster chicken to get accustomed to this smoker before attempting the turkey when it counts. Temps held steady for duration of the cook time, meat was amazing! Have smoked chicken, ribs, turkey, and rump roast, can't wait to try a brisket and a tenderloin. Some advice: Read up on multiple smoking methods and times, get accustomed to the whats and whys of each method, and try them out, see what works best for your taste and style. Instructions for the smoker mention covering the grease drain pan with aluminum foil - This is a huge time saver, very good advice, and will help keep the smoker in cleaner condition. Racks have a very durable ceramic/porcelain coating on them. I wash the racks and change the pan foil after every session. Removable ash tray is a huge bonus - Again, not something found on all smokers. Pellet usage is about a pound per hour - Competition blend is a great overall pellet to use, has good flavor for most any meat. Be prepared for a somewhat lengthy initial burn process, and perform this before needing to smoke food. This burns off assembly oils and "seasons" the smoker for use. Only cons for me are no window and no lid-mounted analog temp gauge, but I consider those things to be luxuries, and not terribly important. If you're like me and want to spend your money the best way possible on a great smoker without regret, stop here - You'll be glad you bought this one. ... show more

  • Great affordable smoker!
Size: 1060 Sq.in
All around great smoker. Assembly was fairly simple. I watched the Z-grill tutorial on YouTube while following the instructions and made life 10x's easier. Side note: Pellet Smokers cook great but lack "smokey" flavor, no matter what brand you go with this will be an issue. Do yourself a favor and invest in some Smoke Tubes. Amazon sells a 2 pack with cleaning brush for just under $16. IT CHANGES THE FLAVOR COMPLETELY! You will get classic Off-Set smoker flavor with the convenience of a pellet smoker. Trust me on that. This last weekend I smoked a Boston Butt and 2 racks of Baby Back Ribs. Easily fit on this smoker. With the Smoke Tubes, it turned out incredible. Temperature is very constant as long as the lid is shut. It does take a little while to full heat up, so don't keep the lid open and longer than you have too. Great product and much cheaper than Traeger or Pitt Boss. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Out performed expectations!
Size: 709 Sq.in
I have alot of smokers from stick burners to charcoal but no pellet smoker. I looked at pellet smokers as cheating the process and not real bbq. I wanted to compare a pellet smoker to my other smokers in my fleet. After weeks of research and going out to my local distributors to look at smokers, I came across the Zgrill electric 7052B pellet smoker. There wasn't alot of reviews nor video on this product but I found an abundance of media on the Traegar. I'm thinking to myself why is that? I researched this product and what alot of people didn't know, was that Zgrill use to make traegar smokers. I'm thinking to myself, why not for some reason I'm a suckered for little known products. I ordered my Zgrill 7052B off of Amazon and was waiting impatiently like a kid a Christmas for its arrival. Finally it came and when I say it was a beast I mean it was a beast, I'm 6'5 260lbs and here I am thinking I can move this from the front porch to the back deck with no issues. I wish I would've smoked the crow before I ate it! Because it was heavy! So I'm thinking that's a great sign before even opening the box of its construction. It took me and 2 defensive line college lineman to transport it. The unboxing was simple and easy and as I was putting it together the quality of the components were extremely impressive, heavy gauge material. The legs were sturdy and able to support the barrel and hopper. The lid and sides were double lined and constructed of heavy thick gage steel, also heat felt around the lid to maintain heat and smoke. The 24 lb hopper held enough pellets for that overnight cook. Time to fire it up! The hopper display was bold with big bright information which made it so easy to read. The functions were simple and the super smoke option wad amazing producing extra smoke every 10 mins. It came with 2 temp probes and timer. The prime function was nice to use when you first start up or changing different type pellets. The timer function was especially nice so I can see and log cook times. Ok let's start with something simple bone in pork butt. The Zgrill 7052B is all primed set the temp at 160 super smoke initiated using the huge ergonomic dial and push and set. Pork butt on and in bed for the night. I followed the temp fluctuations using the built in wifi with the app since it was going to be a chilly night, after 5 hours and 10pm I was so impressed of how it maintained temp that I went to bed trusting the Zgrill 7052b. I woke up at 7am checked the hopper and was flabbergasted that it barely used pellets due to the well built construction of the zgrill and how it was able to maintain temp and heat. I wanted to eat about 4pm so I bumped up the heat to 275 using the app as I watched the Zgrill respond without hesitation. Skipping forward to the finished product, who knew that a pellet grill could produce the type of bark I was seeing. The succulent juicy full of flavor pork pulled nicely and the taste test was beyond my wildest expectations! The wife and kids were like dad this is the best one yet! I hope you kept notes. My only regret was not able to go with the bigger size cause I do big cooks, don't get me wrong the 700 plus square in is awesome but like I said I like doing big cooks with 5 kids and 7 grandkids size does matter and being a decorated veteran with 2 kids remaining in college funds are limited. But I definitely wish I could afford the bigger size. Pros: Well constructed double lined steel maintains temp and a pellet mixer. No wobble legs and caster wheels make easy to move. The super smoke function is a must have and the wifi with app allows you to go on with your day at the mall grocery shopping or whatever you can make adjustments right from your smart phone anywhere. Price point: For the quality of this smoker the price point is awesome below Traegar price point and IMO out performs the traegar. CONS: probe settings should have some type of audible alarm for notifications. Caster wheels could be a little bigger for ease and mobility. Top rack could be just a smidge bigger and the built in counter could be bigger so you can rest your trays. ... show more

  • A very good value. So far works great
Size: 550 Sq.in
I have had this smoker for about a little over a month. I think it works great. Assembly was a snap. Plugged it in and works perfectly. I do not leave pellets in the system, but the one or two cooks where Int was late, I was able to clean the next day without issue. Like any kind of smoker it takes some time to understand how to control temperature and smoke. We have so far done a duck, sausages, a pichana and a brisket with it. I overshot the brisket and wish I took it off a bit before 205. Getting the temperature to consistently stay at ~275 was a bit difficult. For a normal pit smoker I would normally put meat directly on the rack. This smoker seems to work well if you have a pan below the rack. Fill that with water and you'll get a nice moist smoke and you can control the bottom heat a bit better than if you're direct on the rack. ... show more
