I’ve only had this for 1 week and have cooked Ribs that were amazing, pizza that was amazing, sourdough bread and I have spatchcock chicken in there now. I have not yet gone through a 20lb bag of pellets. I used some baking stones I had to cook the pizza. Quite simple to assemble. Watch the video then follow the directions. I have the old model of this one The one with the old controller. I still have it. I like Zgrills for its performance to buget ratio. But the old controller had wide swings. I dont know what others could do with this model but on the old one the lowest I could go was 250 F. But when I put the new one together I like to smoke whole Chickens as my first cook to see where Im at. Well Im happy to say the first cook went realy good I was able to keep the at 225 at the dial so big win. Juicy chicken is what my family had. We have a air fry electric oven and we cook chicken on a weekly basis and i have to say that the Zgrills did circles around our oven. I would have to say to new commers is yes heavy duty smokers are better but heavy metal comes at a price. But if your new to smokers and dont want or have the buget to spend on a smoker but you want a no frills smoker and just wanna cook a good meal for friends and family then the Zgrills is the one to have new commers start out small and simple also simple on the dry rub your gonna come out with a good cook every time. But what this grill holds its temperature steady like no other grill I’ve had. It will go hours at the ideal 250° that I use for my ribs. The pellet feeder works well.
