Its ok for a pressure cooker. Its made pretty well and can be used on an induction stove. Its a good size but for the price I would probably go with a name brand. I dont know what rings would fit this or where you would get extra parts? It seems to be pretty good but there is no know support for these off brands. Buy at your own risk.

The media could not be loaded. When I was growing up, there was never a time when my parents weren’t using a pressure cooker — to make chicken, beef, pork, lamb, tubers, and most importantly, beans. I still make all my parent’s recipes in a pressure cooker, but all new BEAN recipes I ALWAYS make in a pressure cooker. You can make tender, delicious beans in under 45 minutes (and you don’t have to soak them the day before, either, if you put them in the pressure cooker for 5-10 minutes, let out the pressure, throw out the water, then start again with your recipe in the pressure cooker. Those 5-10 minutes are the equivalent of an overnight soak.) The installation for the handles of this pressure cooker are in perfect English. It’s not everyday I can say that about instructions. The pot comes with a regular screwdriver, but unfortunately the screws are all Phillip’s head. Although the enclosed screwdriver will work for most of the screws, its quite awkward for the short screws. The installation of the handles are all fairly simple, except for the small side handle, which was very hard to screw on. The screw is fairly short and wouldn’t engage into the thread, and since I was screwing it in blind — because the threads are inside the handle and not visible — it has to be done by feel. It took several frustrating minutes. As per the instructions, I oiled the gasket under the lid, the lid and the pot body. The pressure cooker closed smoothly, like the proverbial butter. I suppose the pressure-thingy (“jigger valve”) is meant to stay on the lid because you have to push it on hard to stay, and it’s hard to remove. I suppose it’s a good thing, because then you won’t lose it. And if you do lose it, the pressure cooker came with a spare tiny hat. It took about 10 minutes for the pressure to rise inside the cooker. The pressure indicator (which is very clearly visible on my 30 year old 5qt pressure cooker), is a little cylindrical metal tube in the upper handle, that you can’t see, but that I kept poking with a chopstick, so I could feel if the pressure was rising. When the little metal thingy fully resisted my chopstick, then the pressure had risen in the pot. This is not a good way for a pressure cooker amateur to learn to use a pressure cooker and feel comfortable. I only knew about that little metal thingy in the handle because I’d seen it before. I suppose the manufacturer of this pot intends for the cook to know the pressure’s risen by the jigger valve jiggering. But the jigger valve never danced at low heat, the way my old pressure cooker’s valve dances. I had to turn up the heat to medium for the tiny hat to “spin.” It spun pretty quickly then, though it did make slightly frightful sounds (instead of the rhythmic music I’m used to hearing), though I believe those sounds are normal; they’re just different from what I’m used to. This pressure cooker is like a shiny beast on a hill. It’s a colossus. Gorgeous and very handy. I’ve only ever had a 5qt pressure cooker, and big as that is, it’s not big enough for more than 5-6 people. I finally realized that an 8qt pressure cooker would solve all my problems. I can made dinner for 2, with leftovers, or I can make dinner for 10. Most people I know are afraid of pressure cookers like this one because they’re afraid they’ll blow up. So they buy that other famous pot that claims to be safe because it lets out the pressure for you. But let me tell you about that other pot. It takes 20 minutes to release the pressure. With pressure cookers like this big baby, all you have to do is put it under running water. In a few seconds, the pressure will release. The sound of a pressure cooker tch-tch-tch-tching is a beautiful thing. Reassuring, exciting, a little bit mysterious. You can’t see what’s going on inside the pot, but you know that the result will be something amazing.

1 star straight away before even cooking. Inside of the top handlebar broke right away upon installing without any pressure at all. I purchased the 8qt stainless steel, pricier than the aluminum ones out there so I get something more durable but this product is just not it. Stick to known brands with reputation. February 2024 - 3 inch bulge on the bottom of the pan, time for the garbage can. I thought I bought a more durable pan by going stainless steel?
