Assembly is actually really easy. The manufacturer sends a video to help, but it's not that difficult. I did it without the video. It is easier to tighten everything with power tools, but I did it by hand, although tightening the bolts and screws with my arthritis was a bit of a challenge ( btw, I'm in my 30s and have arthritis. I don't know if that's any different from being older and having arthritis. The power tools would have made it easier, though). I'm not an experienced cyclist and it's been over a decade since I did any competitive sports. I've started panting running up three flights of stairs, but I'm otherwise in decent shape. I've been using this bike everyday for 30 minutes, averaging around 20-25 mph on the sixth resistance (and I'm also around 130lbs) and there's been no issues with the integrity of the bike. It feels sturdy, like one of the bikes from my old college gym, although for what is probably a fraction of the price. I do wish that the resistance could go a little higher, but there's a, for me, big jump in difficulty from the 6th to the 7th level so I know I'll get a lot more use out of it. I'd suggest getting a bike with one of those infinite resistance knobs if you're used to lots of resistance, but for someone just looking to get into shape, this bike is great!

Just received the new X-Bike yesterday and immediately opened the box. Removed all the parts/pieces and was surprised at the weight of the individual pieces! This is NOT a flimsy piece of equipment! The written directions w/drawings for assembling were well done making assembly of the bike easy. And for those who still need more help, there's an Amazon card included to scan to watch a 'how to' video. Since I was interrupted a couple of times while putting it together my total assembly time was a couple of hours. When I was finished I got on it and gave it a 'test' ride. The seat with the back is comfortable and gives good support, and the handles both on the sides as well as the one leaning forward are also comfortable. The pedal adjustment for resistance is in the front and it gives just a slight resistance when put on max, so for anyone WANTING a tough hard push, this is not the stationary bike for you. It is for anyone wanting a simple, easy ride for basic exercise beyond just walking. For an older person wanting an easy exercise bike, it's perfect! It has a set of built in wheels on one end for easily moving the bike and yes it does fold up. So storage is convenient, but it really doesn't take up that much space when it's open. This one also has the tension straps which I use at the same time while I'm pedaling so I'm working my upper body while my lower body works the pedals. The built in 'computer' uses two AA batteries, which are included, but I use my smart phone in my pocket for giving me my 'miles', since I haven't actually taken the time to set up the 'machine' buttons yet. Overall, it is a sturdy, well built, well designed bike for the price for anyone NOT wanting to spend $200 to a thousand or more for all the bells and whistles.

I just received my bike yesterday and I love it. First of all.. it was SO easy to assemble. When i first ordered it i did watch the video on how to assemble so i had seen it. But when i actually started to put the bike together i didn't need the instructions OR the video.. it was that simple and well planned out. No bag of screws to have to sort thru to figure out what goes where. All screws are already in place and just need to be removed and then reinstalled when you put on the pedals, handlebars, seat and stabilizer bars. Took me about 20-25 minutes. The bike is very comfortable. I saw some folks saying they didn't like the seat, but I find it perfect. Large and roomy, not hard but also not soft so it's very supportive. I did see a few reviews that spoke about the seat not being high enough for one to extend their leg properly while pedaling. For reference i'm 5'7", and on the second to the highest setting for seat height i have perfect leg extension for biking. Plenty of room for my knees - not even close to hitting the handlebars. Being able to fold it up and place it in a corner is fantastic. Very space efficient. And I live in a tiny apartment. There is LITERALLY NO SOUND when pedaling - completely silent. And it's very smooth. The tension knob works well. I would probably always use it in mid-range, anyhow, but taking it up to the highest amount of resistance will def give a decent workout. The pulse/speed/calories/distance monitor works well also. Love having the place to put your phone so you can use that while riding. That's something that i didn't see on any other bikes like this. The only change i would make would be to be able to have the handlebars either closer or be adjustable to so that you could raise them from the angle that they are - adjust them to maybe flip **towards** you rather than away from you. I have lower back issues so I don't want to lean forward. But honestly you can very easily and comfortably ride without using the handlebars as it's very stable and well balanced and i feel completely comfortable without having to hold the handlebars. During installation, you can flip the handle bars around so that they are closer, but then you can't see the monitor or use the phone holder. I'm really very happy with this bike. I think it's perfect for what it is designed for. Would definitely recommend for someone who is looking for mid-range workout and doesn't want the intensity of, say, a spin bike - which it definitely is not. Love it!!

This was a pretty good bike for the price. I have fibromyalgia and was advised to find a way to move for 30 minutes a day to assist with my sleep and pain. There is literally ZERO sound from the machine when you use it. It takes up very little space in my living room and enjoy the multiple handle grips. The only 2 suggestions/issues I are that the seat is not as soft as I would like and I wish one of the bottom feet had wheels to assist in moving out of the way when its folded. Other than that, a great bike for someone who just needs to move.

Bike seems to work fine, seat comfortable. When putting it together, I noticed some damage to the handle bars and then the wrenches that were supplied didn't fit the foot pedals, making me have to use ill fitting pliers that scraped up the painted finish. And even with that, I couldn't get one of the nuts on all the way. Don't think this will hurt the functionality, but it was disappointing.
