Camera 5/5 stars - Camera quality is very good. It is easy to plug and start ussing Storage 2/5 stars - This did not come with free sd card. You have to purchase it separately or subscribe to kami via the app. App 2/5 stars - App is easy to setup and use but have several ads in them. It also sends notifications to subscribe to the monthly/annual cloud storage occasionally. Overall, I like the build quality of the cameras - yes they come in 2. If for personal use, you can also rely on the sd cards. For business purposes, I think 100/year on the cloud storage is not bad. Watch out for promotions too as they sometimes offer 30% off. ... show more

I purchased these for the low price and high quality of video (advertised to be 2K, if your WiFi is strong enough). The night vision is ok but is not very clear. The price was right (for a 2 pack). The app that you have to use to manage these cameras needs a lot of work. It continually nags you to purchase the "additional" monitoring/storage services (which are NOT required). There is no other way (to my knowledge) to monitor and view the video from these cameras. I would recommend purchasing a large (128 Gb or more) memory card so you can record video locally, since one is not provided with the camera. The video from the memory card can be viewed via the app but it's a little "clunky" to use in this configuration. I'm going to use these to monitor the interior of my garage, since the app isn't that friendly and will use a Blink product in the kitchen/living room where I intended these to be used because I already have some of these cameras and adding more will be the cheapest route. ... show more

    • Barely useable anymore - bad Bad BAD!
UPDATE LATEST: THIS IS A CRAP CAMERA AND BAD COMPANY. It has potential, if YI did it right it would be fantastic. They put out app updates several times a month apparently to push their Cloud service instead of improving the app. The cameras firmware last update was 2019, so they obviously do not care about camera flaws. I have tried working with YI to no avail. NOT recommended CRAP CAMERA AND COMPANY. UPPDATE: Putting up with all the other flaws (see Previous below). Found a feature to use but that is flawed also. The feature is Auto Cruise which uses Bookmarks. This feature is useful but with a problem. After a time of use the camera view slowly vanishes to beyond the lip (like the privacy mode - lens goes hidden), this will happen in 6-10 hours. You then have to turn camera off/on to reset position. I have been working with YI but they are resisting a fix in app. The SD card seems to be disabled - forcing cloud usage. I don't want YI's cloud because I am rural and no real data. (Also don't like being manipulated to use cloud which YI/Kami seems to be forcing over time.) ORIGINAL: At one time I was impressed, but not so much anymore. The Sensitivity is useless now - it triggers on tiny spiders 20ft away on any setting. On Human a person has to be looming close in view to trigger - no good - not real AI, just blob mode. The SD card mode only shows 2 days (regardless of how large SD is) - I have a 32gb card that is full of what?, 2 days at 200mb? They use to record and let you see an optional 30 seconds off YOUR/my SD, but now only 6 seconds. The activity pic panel is decent but timeline is useless now. It acts like you get 2 days of cloud for free but no real evidence. I don't want cloud though - don't have the bandwidth or allotment. Don't know how to disable. Made the mistake of buying another YI (replacing a defective one - have 5 now) a few months ago thinking they would straighten things out - so far not! Summary: YI has gone seriously down hill. There are so many decent camera companies competing now to put up with this from YI. ... show more

Update 2/1/2024 The customer service team has resolved all my concerns, thus the updated review. Update1/22/2024 Their Customer Service team reached out to me and pretty much told me that I am out of luck and they can't assist me unless I buy an additional cloud service from them. I responded asking why and have not got an answer for the past 5 days. Camera is on the cheaper end which is fine, but if you have any issues there is no quality customer support. When you do get a response, it is a copy and pasted script. I am unable to pair the camera to the app and after the initial copy and pasted reply, I got no further instructions or support. ... show more

    • works ok. need yi home app (not yi iot app). need sd card for recording
Pro: easy to connect once you download yi home app. put on same 2.4GHz wifi. Once it is paired, you can hook up app to 5GHz wifi and still look at it - you can access it from any wifi anywhere, actually. Camera itself works on 2.4GHz wifi only. Pretty good pictures. Don't need cloud service for either live or recording. Con: not too good at motion detection. Mine pretty much does continuous recording even when set for just medium sensitivity, record on motion detection only. Does NOT work with yiiot app - i was fooled. I did set it up (paired it) using the yiiot app but it won't save the camera name so you can't access it - I think they purposely did that so you would have to use their other app (yi home app). It showed up without any help on the yi home app (guess it was paired correctly). Other: Apparently, the cloud service is good for both. Also, the user account (set up with your email - its mandatory but is free) is the same for both apps. I have both cameras and now have to run 2 apps to see them *sigh*. Mine has a habit of going into night mode (black and white, no color) even in ok light. That is pretty sad. My old camera didn't do that. They do have a setting where you can turn off the night mode but I also want it to work in the dark...*oh well*, guess I'll have to get used to no colors unless the sun is shining in the room. Power cord is 6 feet long, included with separate 5V 1Amp power plug. Microphone works well both ways. App has a setting for only 1 talk at a time OR both can talk at once.
