I own a small farm and nursery, and I wanted to get an extra soil scoop and clippers for trimming seedlings or small bushes of suckers. I've used the hand trowel a few times to mix soil and it has a good weight, a little on the heavy side, but that means good metal and good wood. It feels of higher quality than most of my small hand tools, and it certainly looks nicer with its darker colors than the others. The gloves are a nice touch, but personally, I go through so many gloves I don't think these will last more than a month...probably even less because I started using them on a concrete job, and working with concrete tends to destroy gloves. But big perk to the gloves, at least for my use, and for most gardeners, is that they are waterproof. The only thing that I didn't like about the set was when I unpacked them from the shipping box, the gold metal cap at the bottom of the trowels handle (opposite side of the leather loop) was just jangling around the metal stem of the trowel. Had to reglue it. Common issue with cheaper tools, unfortunate it wasn't secured properly. This is a great little set, and would make a great gift as well. ... show more

I ordered this product for the value..gloves, shovel and clippers. However the clippers are not able to trim my rose buses. Instead the clippers are good for light trimming of my indoor plants. Gloves are good to keep your hands clean however full rubber so can get hot. Shovel is good to transfer soil for potting. ... show more

This is a great set of garden tools. The finish seems to be holding up and I have not noticed any rust yet. The steel is fairly thick and I don't foresees it bending for the type of function these tools are designed for. Great buy.
