** updated 2/2/2023 ** After emailing XMCOSY support, a very nice and helpful rep, Jane, walked me through troubleshooting and other suggestions. I had taken the receiver/transmitter portion of the light string and saw that the leads were corroded due to being outdoors. Even though there is a screw-down fastener and gasket, moisture still made its way in and caused the switcher to stop working. Jane offered to replace the unit, even though, technically, it was due to the elements and not manufacturer defect. She had one sent, and I just received and plugged it in and my lights are working again!! I have amended my initial 3 star review to 5 stars due to Jane's customer service and generosity in replacing the unit. I was fully expecting XMCOSY to say, sorry, not our fault, and be done with me, but Jane's (and XMCOSY's) belief in providing excellent customer service really made me happy in the end. Thank you, Jane, and XMCOSY!! ** original review ** We had a new deck installed in 2020 and had some taller poles installed on the railing opposite the house. The intent was to string some lights over the deck for ambient lighting at night. We got these string lights and set them up. Wifi setup was easy and we loved controlling via voice with our Google assistant or phones. From the jump, however, the lights were not as bright as we would have liked. We'd see other lights at restaurants, or outdoor areas, and they always seemed brighter; it's not like our back yard is darker than other outdoor spots. However, everything worked great until recently. Now, the lights do not turn on at all. I have tested the outlet (works) and the extension cord (works) and have determined that the XMCOSY+ Outdoor String Lights have failed. At this point, 2 years+ in, they're likely out of warranty. I guess we've gotten good use out of them. However, I certainly didn't expect them to fail now. It just means we have to order new lights and spend an hour tearing down and then restringing the new lights. Unfortunately, due to the aforementioned reasons, we will likely be purchasing a different brand moving forward. ... show more

These lights are absolutely awesome! Unfortunately, about a year after I installed them, the power bank that originally came with the device became waterlogged after a bad storm and stopped working. I reached out to the company hoping they could help me purchase a replacement just for the power bank (the lights were perfectly fine) and they were gracious enough to send me a new, updated power bank free of charge!     • Water logged & terrible app, but customer service to the rescue

We used these string lights a little less than two years and theyโ€™re water logged. Many bulbs now have condensation and some even have water build up within the bulbs. I now have to trash them. The app was wonky from day one and was so non-user friendly that I ended up getting a smart outdoor light socket to control them. Big waste of money. Update: customer service contacted me after I posted the above, and they promptly replaced the entire light string for me for free. I appreciate them standing by their product so Iโ€™m giving them four stars. Customer service was polite and sought meaningful feedback to improve the product. ... show more
