  • Plenty powerful, clean edges. *Refurbished unit review*
Style: 12-Amp 7.5" Electric Lawn Edger & Tr...
I bought this as a refurb, and it set me back a mere $85 and tax, and by smell and appearance of all parts it hadn't even been used before. Might be worth a try for you too. This has plenty of power and never flinched at the fairly thick patches of grass growing over my edges. It even did well on the edge on the gutter curb, with the unit tilted at about a 30-degree angle or so, and it never tried to tip over or slide downwards sideways. One caveat I'm not crazy about: it's impossible to see where the blade is because of the guard, so starting a line blind (because of the aforementioned thick overgrowth) is going to result in some touch-and-go, with the blade possibly bouncing in protest at hitting solid sidewalk. I know there's a white line, but it's still tricky. It happens with other edgers, but is more of a thing with this due to the obscured vision. Because of this, it will be slower going than using a gas-powered edger, which I am very practiced with before getting this unit. I suspect now that I have clean lines this will be a bit less of an issue going forward, and it isn't a dealbreaker, but is worth mentioning. Another minor nitpick: If you get to the edge and are accustomed to lifting a gas edger up and away from the edge, you may struggle a bit with this as the unit is pretty heavy in comparison, and it's probably not the best idea to rely on this unit's albeit durable handle to do such cowboy stuff. Again, these are to be expected and do not really detract much from its efficacy as an edger. That all said, the fact that it is powered by cord and is very powerful means it will be perhaps more reliable than a gas powered unit overall. Third-party blades can be picked up very cheaply in bulk, too. I would definitely recommend this edger. ... show more

  • WORX Edger Lawn Tool, Electric Lawn Edger 12 Amp 7.5", Grass Edger & Trencher WG896

I used this Edger Today5/13/2024 Did a Great job. I haven't had an edger in years and Wow I forgot what I was missing. Ease of use and precise hardly broke a sweat. I have recently purchased a few other Worx tools, but they are battery powered ( hedge trimmer, weed Wacker and the telescopic chain saw for a coupler of trees that need some pruning). Although I have yet to use them I will review once I have. P.S. Don't hesitate "get it" ... show more

  • Powerful and easy to use.
Style: Cordless Lawn Edger
This battery powered edger is a pleasure to use. It’s lightweight and has enough power to get the job done. It has quite a bit of torque and is able to power through the sod and grass. The construction is pretty durable, and it looks like this edger should last a while. The edger is pretty comfortable to hold, and the battery life is sufficient to complete the edging for my property. Assembly was easy although I did run into an issue where the upper and lower shaft would not go together completely. The hole for the ball bearing was just about ¼” too high. No matter how hard I pushed I could not get them to click together. I finally figured it out. I loosened the black bracket and moved it just a tiny bit and the 2 pieces snapped together easily. I retightened the bracket and all was good. I absolutely love this edger it performs better than I expected. The only thing that is frustrating is that the shield around the blade does get clogged on occasion, maybe if the channel were a little wider this would not happen. Not a deal breaker but it can become a little annoying. This edger is so much nicer to use than the electric one I had before. Not having to deal with an extension cord is a pleasure. Overall I am very pleased with this edger. ... show more

  • Nice Inexpensive Edger
Style: 12-Amp 7.5" Electric Lawn Edger & Tr...
Needed to edge my sidewalk and driveway. So rather than do it manually I decided to spring and buy this to make it easier. Was easy enough to put together though the instructions were not all that great. Most can figure it out I has cheep looking wheels, not sure how well they will stand up over time. I used it for the first time yesterday. Now let me say that my edging was long overdue with grass growing 2-3 or more inches over the edge of the side walk and the sidewalk is depressed from the grass by about an inch or more. So it wasn't as easy as if my edging was done frequently. But it did the job. Plenty of power to cut through the thick grass. Easy to maneuver and find the edge of the concrete. I had to muscle it through some of the worst stiff but it cut a nice line that made it relatively easy to dig up the sod over the concrete. It never stalled out. Was not an easy job but easier than doing it with just a shovel and hoe. I gave it the worse possible conditions and it did the job. If I were able to change anything, the guard should be adjustable to allow for the case where the sidewalk is overgrown and lower than the surrounding ground and grass. All in all, I would recommend this. Nice power, good design. ... show more
