Description

Are you a hobbyist or artisan that enjoys working with wood and in need of a Block Plane? Perhaps you have never used a carpenter’s block plane and wonder, how this tool can help you complete your project? Block planes are commonly used for cleaning up wood components by removing thin shavings, in addition to cutting end grains and doing touchup or finish work. These WORKPRO Block Planes are ideal for cleaning up wood ends and edges by removing thin shavings of wood, in order to make additional wood components fit together tighter, and within desired tolerances. When these low-angle block planes are set at the correct blade depth, they can help smooth rough areas of solid wood components, with greater precision in just a few simple passes. These cast iron block planes are easy to use and include a front wooden handle for improved control. They feature a single hardened and tempered steel blade set at a shallow angle, which allows the blade to slice through end grain with greater efficiency. Best results are achieved when the plane is held at an angle of up to 45 degrees when pulling or pushing across the edge of the wood. This allows the cutting edge to slice much easier through the wood fibers as they pass from one end of the cutting edge to the other. Sharp, dangerous wood corners can be easily removed with these compact planes, a process also known as chamfering, which leaves wood edges with safer, beveled edges. These planes are also frequently used for paring and butting end grains of stock material, for touchup and finish work, and for removing dry, hardened wood glue. Do not wait any longer. Order yours today, and save time and money while providing a smooth finish to your woodworking projects.

  • workpro planer--get what you pay for
First, I have used a hand planer about 4 times in my life, but its not rocket science and a good tool is a good tool... For what I paid (under $20) and considering my need is seldom... this will do. I am using it to widen a refrigerator buildin (new frigs have swelled 1/2 inch) That said, I note the following pros: reasonable heft mostly steel but the top wedge is plastic. adjustability seems ok. overall size is basically palm size -18 x 5.3cm base and 4cm blade...good for small adjustments to doors, frames etc. cons...plastic wedge, small defect in the mouth (I would return but it was cheap and I think it will still work.) ... show more

  • Wrong name, should be Work-Poor not WorkPro
Main Block is not machined to hold work blade in position. Adjustments difficult to set. Main Block still had beads of metal flashing on the cutter guideway that tilted and prevented blade from sliding down to engage work piece. Blade tilt (to shave more off left or right side of the work piece) set full to one side just to make the blade sit parallel to work piece. You would have better tool control using an adze rough coring tool. Recommend as a paperweight only, this is not a tool. ... show more
