First the meh. The sharp edge of the 'sole' can leave a line that has to be sanded out in softer wood. The blades were sharp enough to do a good job with the grain but chattered cross-grain leaving little ridges. Both of these issues took about 3 seconds to fix with a fine grain sanding block. The wooh! Is this saved tons of time over grabbing a router to round over a quick job. Also safer and easier to handle small parts.     • A good tool - if you do a few simple things to it first

If there is room for a router and power is available etc I will use a router. This tool is great for tight places on installed material. Before you use it, remove the blade and spend a few minutes with a flat sharpening stone to put a decent edge on it - makes a big difference. While the blade is out, clean up the threads and put a drop of oil on them for smoother adjustments. Then take some fine sandpaper or emery cloth, wrap it on the corner of something square, and sand the paint off of the surfaces that will contact your work (it's easier than sanding it off of your material - no plane surface that contacts your wood should be painted) If you do those three things before you use this tool I think you will like it a lot more, and it is well made, just not well finished. ... show more

This thing is well built and works great. That said, be careful to do multiple shallow passes and don't try to do the whole thing in one go. You'll save yourself a lot of headache if you do. Several blades, all cut well. No complaints.

Meh. Looks nice. Doesn't work well out of the box. Bits need sharpening and the paint needs to be removed from the places that contact the workpiece. The additional bits other than the 45 degree and round chamfer are pretty useless. For the more complex contours a palm router is the way to go. All in all I would not buy if I had to do it over especially given the price. ... show more

The idea behind this is sound, but the knives are not adjustable enough. They will only pull back so far into the base, which leaves you with a chamfer that is about 1/4 inch wide. I was envisioning able to adjust the knives from a zero depth of cut, but that is not the case. The quality of the base is good, it just is not useful for small chamfers.     • Hex nut issue and scratches white oak wood!!
I was so excited to see this product and to receive it. But immediately I had a bad feeling when I had difficulty removing the hex screws to attach the auxiliary guide. They were torqued on much too tight. And the provided hex wrench was too short to provide the necessary torque to remove even two of the screws. So, I went ahead and just used two of the screws to attach the guide. Then, when I tried out this tool on a piece of hard white oak with the cutter at an appropriate depth, the metal bottom actually scratched the oak and put a groove in it! Although I could have asked for a replacement, I had no hope a new one would be much different. And, sending this one back, even with free return shipping, is such a pain since we live so far in the country. So, unless the company responds back with a full refund, I wasted $30 and am providing this review. ... show more
