I have just started smoking meat using charcoal and wood. The worst part is babysitting smoker so I researched options and landed on pellet smoker. Seems to be most convenient but complaints were not enough smoke taste. Was very anxious about a Boston butt which is a 10 to 12 hour smoke because of other things I needed to do. I was pleasantly surprised when temps held very closely to set temperature, I'm used to 50 to 75 degree temp swings. Worked flawlessly, very impressed. Looked at all smokers and brands before I stumbled on this one. Not well known name to me but the reviews were very high so I decided to go with it because of price since I'm not familiar with pellet grills. I would think it would be hard to beat this smoker for double the price. The readout is very bright and bold. I decided it seems to run itself so I would mow yard. Kept driving by to check temps and could see temp from very good distance. Well I have only used it a few times because I just got it after only 3 days after my order. Easy to put together, screwdriver only. No brainer. I did add some felt gasket around door and put a bungee on handle to hold it closed tight only because I didn't like smoke coming out the front in my face. Has holes in back for ventilation. Also it is so easy to clean. You can wrap the drip pan/heat shield with heavy duty foil and wipe off when removed. I noticed there is a lot of dust in bottom where ashes blow around due to fan blowing. I'm sure they all do that but there is plenty of room under heat shield so I am going to try a pan of water under it to see if it will capture most of it and will add moisture to chamber if nothing else. This is truly a modern marvel. P.S. I have heard you can't get the bark and taste of a wood fired smoker but check out picture of bark on that butt. I did use a smoker tube inside. I suggest a tube or wood chip box for added smoke if needed. We'll made and total value for money. I like the size. Didn't need a large unit. Some said it was too short but didn't seem to be a problem for me. Hard to please everyone I guess.

I’ve really enjoyed using this pellet smoker grill. The cooking space is generous enough to handle big batches of food when I’m entertaining, and the 8-in-1 versatility lets me smoke, roast, and grill without switching equipment. The PID temperature control keeps the heat steady, so I don’t have to constantly adjust it, and everything I’ve cooked so far has turned out evenly done with great flavor from the wood pellets. The build quality feels solid, and I like that it comes with wheels and a cover, which makes moving and storing it much easier. Still putting it together, maybe half way done, but the tiny print on the truly awful instructions sent me here already offering one star rating. At this point, I’ll be stunned if this thing actually works once I get through these horrendous instructions on merely putting together. And oh, btw, be prepared to deal with an absolute crazy amount of packaging, and at least three full trees worth of cardboard. I’m very very sorry I made this purchase. Wish I could go back in time…

After I got this assembled, I followed the instructions on what to do for the first lighting. I waited, nothing, I tried like 8 more times and nothing, but I could hear a grinding noise coming from it. I contacted Amazon who got me in touch with the manufacturer. Within say 20 minutes I got an email from them asking what happened and if I followed the instructions in the manual. I told them I had tried several times just like the instructions said. The last email I got from them was telling me what the new tracking number would be. I thought they would just send me the parts needed. They did not, instead they sent me a brand new grill/smoker! As far as I'm concerned they went above and beyond regular customer service. I was not expecting this at all. I highly recommend this company if you're in the market for a grill/smoker, or anything else they carry. I was delighted to see it, even though that's not what I was expecting. The new one works great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
