Description

Pressure cookers are gaining momentum as the new healthy, time-saving, and energy-saving way to prepare food. Pressure cooking also retains up to 50-percent more vitamins and minerals, and it requires less fat and oil when compared to other cooking methods, which means healthier, lower fat meals. While not a new method, the technology has certainly been transformed over the years to be easier and safer than ever. This three-piece set makes it possible to save up to 70 percent of the time and energy traditionally used in cooking rice, meat, and vegetables. Measuring approximately 12 by 18-1/5 by 16 inches, the set includes a 6-1/2-quart pot, a 3-quart pot, and a pressure-cooker lid that fits both pots. Constructed in Germany of heavy-gauge Cromargan 18/10 stainless steel with a polished mirror finish, the cookware not only look great on the stovetop, but it also ensures long-lasting strength and high- quality performance from one use to the next. Suitable for any cooktop, including induction, the pots feature TransTherm bases that retain and evenly distribute heat, while their black, phenolic, ergonomically designed handles stay cool to the touch for comfortable transport. Best of all, the pressure- cooker lid provides safety features that help prevent excessive pressure build-up. For example, in the event of excessive pressure build-up, an alarm will sound to indicate that the heat needs to be lowered. With the lid handle removed, the pots and lid can go in the dishwasher for quick cleanup. A recipe booklet and complete operating instructions come included. What's in the Box 6-1/2-quart pot, 3-quart pot, and pressure-cooker lid that fits both pots. 6-1/2-quart pot measures approximately 12 by 18-1/5 by 16 inches. 3-quart pot measures approximately 12 by 18-1/5 by 8 inches. Pressure-cooker lid measures approximately 12 by 18-1/2 by 3 inches.

Style: 6.5-Quart and 3-Quart Combo
I love WMF products, perfect quality and design. It’s a bit pricey , but in the long run, it will last you forever. I couldn’t be any happier with this safe, good looking pressure cooker . I even got it much faster than expected. Very happy and satisfied. Thank you

  • These are awesome!
Style: 6.5-Quart and 4.5-Quart Combo with Glass...
I was looking to add a smaller 3 or 4 qt pressure cooker to my stash (there's only 2 of us). I already own a 6 qt which is sometimes too large. After months of reviews, website searches, investigations, et. al., I decided to purchase this 4.5 qt and 6.5 qt duo (still can't figure out WHY the 3 qt and 6.5 qt combo is almost $103. more). I know, I know I already own a 6 qt pressure cooker (which has been strongly suggested to me to keep - uh, ok), plus the price was decent. I did the 'water pressure' test in the 4.5 qt (after thoroughly cleaning the pot and the top) and it performed beautifully. A few reasons why I love these (I'm including the 6.5 qt because the lids are interchangeable!) is 1) the noise it makes when it gets up to pressure and it's time to lower, 2) NO WEIGHT JIGGLER (those things scare me!), 3) it comes with an additional seal AND a glass lid so that you can use them as a regular stock pot, and 4) the pot and lid are dishwasher safe (just take off the handle, which isn't hard to do). I don't only because I don't want to run my dishwasher that much. It didn't matter to me that it didn't come with any accessories - I already own 3 OXO pressure cooker accessories. Now I don't do a lot of pressure cooking, but what I have done has turned out terrific - and it has been fun. So far, so good and yes, I would recommend these. ... show more

Style: 6.5-Quart and 4.5-Quart Combo with Glass...
This was my first trial with pressure cooking and these pans work great. Cooks food quickly and thoroughly using very little energy. I often cook on the lowest heat setting and often cook with the burner off ( leaving the pan on the heated burner) after the pan has reached the optimal pressure setting.I am NOT happy with the fact that with this set you can only cook in one pot ( using it as a pressure cooker) at a time. While the metal pressure cooker lid is interchangeable and can turn either pot into a pressurized cooking vessel: you cannot pressure cook in both simultaneously ( ie. cooking a rump roast in 1 pressure cooker pot and mashed potatoes in the other.) Only one metal lid is included and you cannot use the glass lid as a pressure cooker. You can only cook in one pan via the pressurized method and the other pot must be used in the customary stove top cooking method which is not efficient . If you want to vacillate from pan to pan the set will work for you if you interchange the metal lid. I wanted a "set" of pressure cookers to cook my entire meal this way. I have not been able to do so and I cannot seem to find a site where I can buy just another metal pressure cooker lid to covert the 2 nd pot to a full- time pressure cooker. If you plan to use this as a set of pressure cookers ( pressure cooking in both pots at the same time) buy both pots separately even though it costs more as this set is cheaper for a reason because it is not as versatile. Had a second metal pressure cooker lid been included, I would have given this a 5 Star rating instead. Definitely a great product but be warned! ... show more

  • Not the German model
Style: 6.5-Quart and 3-Quart Combo
I bought this thinking it was the European model but apparently US import restrictions do not allow pressure cookers to go over 15 PSI. Reviews you may find online about a 20 something PSI model are the European model. Some have suggested replacing the top part of the handle with the European model and I found them being sold on Ebay, but the pot is not as strong, the pot has been known to separate from the Transtherm base, and they do not honor their warranty if this happens (according to another review here and my phone conversation with WMF). They assume that if the base separates it is because you overheated it and the warranty does not make this exception clear. That is why I'm rating two stars. This one does not come near to 15 PSI and so I would have rather gotten a Kuhn Rikon. On the other hand, even this one holds a lot of pressure and it is a bit dangerous. The instructions warn against this but I used to cook oatmeal with it until the valve sprung open spewing boiling hot oatmeal forward for maybe 20 seconds. If the rim is at all oily or dirty it can leak pressure and you are supposed to depressure and scrub it clean which is time consuming. The gasket might last longer since this is lower pressure model. It is easy to overcook things like broccoli. This was a nice deal with two pots and one lid. I use them both all the time. The removable handle is nice. I'm not sure how you would clean one without a removable handle. I use this with the Max Burton 6000 1800-Watt Portable Induction Cooktop (also purchased from Amazon). It will usually hold pressure and not whistle (pressure releasing) on level 1 or 2, sometimes 3 (out of 10 power levels). Sometimes when I have it on 2 or especially 3, after maybe 5 minutes it will heat to the point that it will start to slowly whistle. This is when cooking something that takes a long time to heat through or depending on room temperature. Usually it will stay somewhere between whistle and pressure loss for 30 minutes on 2 or 1. It would be nice to have one that you set and forget but according to Miss Vickie you can't get the one's with a built-in heating element without nonstick coatings and being a single unit, they would be more difficult to clean. I also use the small pot to fry in. Heating is even with the Transtherm base. With a little oil scrambled eggs don't stick. I use it so much, instead of cleaning it I pressure cook after frying and that cleans it. Just have to keep the rim and gasket very clean! This could get a higher rating but I feel the company is being deceptive with the warranty and not making it clear to online buyers the differences with the European model from the reviews on other websites. ... show more
