  • What are you waiting for?
Style: Pump + 3 Yr Warranty
Three years ago we moved from a house that we custom built which included a recirc pump that provided hot water to all of our sinks within 5 seconds. It was nice to have that feature that we quickly took for granted. Although we didn't have to pay for water, as we were on a well, no one likes to waste water. Our current home was not built with a recirc system and although we are no longer on a well, we do have to pay for water and we try to conserve as much as possible. But we would have to start the shower and let it run for up to a minute until the hot water would finally start flowing. And that was the case in every sink and tub in the house. Our prior home's plumbing was built with a dedicated hot water return line loop, so I was skeptical of a recirc pump that supposedly worked with the existing piping without this extra line. But out of three years of frustration with our current situation we decided to buy this Watts recirc pump and give it a try. We have two hot water tanks so I installed it on the outlet of the second tank as instructed and installed the sensor valve that came with it under the bathroom sink the furthest away from the hot water tanks. It took me about two hours to install and get this pump and sensor unit operational from the time I shut off the hot water and drained a couple gallons of water off of the second tank until it was installed and operating. But it was two hours well spent as we now have hot water within 5 seconds throughout the house! Anyone with a basic understanding of plumbing can install this. The instructions are very concise and they provide everything you need except for a wrench and pipe thread tape. But if plumbing is not your thing, then buy this and have it installed. No more waiting and waiting and wasting water while the hot water finally makes it way through your home's piping until it finally gets to your sink, tub or shower. The pump itself is well-built and so quiet you can't hear it if you are standing next to it. You have to grab the outgoing water line and feel it to know the pump is running. And if you don't believe me, there are a whole lot of other great reviews out there that say the same thing. Personally, I am kicking myself as I should have done this 3 years ago. ... show more

  • The house finally feels like it forgives us for its bad plumbing decisions...
Style: Pump + 3 Yr Warranty
I stumbled across this recirculation system while researching on-demand heaters and under-sink hot water tanks. Both options were expensive and would have only solved the issue for our master bath. This, by contrast, cost far less and ended up improving water access throughout the entire house. For reference, we live in a 3,000-square-foot home at 7,000 feet in the mountains, where cold water is not just cold — it’s glacial. For years, turning on the shower in our master bath meant starting a timer, brushing our teeth, and maybe rotating the laundry. Hot water took nearly three minutes to arrive, drifting in like it was pondering whether we deserved it. The sink wasn’t much better. We installed this recirculation pump expecting a small improvement. Instead, we got hot water in ten seconds flat. The sink responds in five. It changed the pace of our mornings in a way we didn't know we needed. Simply put, the thing is magic. But here’s the unexpected part: we use a TUSHY bidet. Which, until now, had the personality of an arctic slap. Because this system nudges a bit of warm water into the cold line, even that has become… civilized. Warm. Almost luxurious. It’s absurd how much that tiny shift improves the experience. Between the water savings (roughly 3,000 gallons a year, by our count), the comfort upgrade, and the sheer relief of not waiting around for plumbing to make up its mind, this might be the best house upgrade we’ve made. I wish we’d done it ten years ago. ... show more

  • Works Great!
Style: Pump + 3 Yr Warranty
Been using for 3 months, works great. The Master Bath is the farthest from the water heater. Could take 5 minutes or more to get hot water. I installed the sensor valve in the master bath under one of the sinks. I installed a Meross smart plug to turn the pump on/off and control everything with my Smartthings hub via two motion sensors. One sensor in the master bath (set for 6 minutes) and the other in the kitchen (set for 3 minutes). Takes about two minutes to have warm/hot water at the master sink. With this setup, the shower now has hot water in 20 seconds. Before we needed to turn on the shower and wait 5 minutes for hot water. Should have installed this years ago. If your water heater is older than one year, I would suggest flushing out the water heater before putting back in service. With the pump running, I did notice more than normal particles in the sink. ... show more

  • Easy DIY Install & Instant Hot Water, with a Small Trade-off
Style: Pump + 3 Yr Warranty
I installed the Watts Heat H2O system on my boiler, and the valve on the farthest sink in my house. It delivers hot water within a minute of the pump running. Installation was straightforward, with no need for a power outlet under the sink. It runs very quietly—barely noticeable—and can be made smart using a smart plug and buttons. A few trade-offs: the return line carries hot water, which may introduce boiler-related minerals into the cold line. Also, the pump itself runs hot (likely due to constant exposure to hot water), which means some heat loss to the surroundings. Still, it’s a well-designed and efficient solution for instant hot water. ... show more

  • Really works if installed correctly, it’s not hard!
Style: Pump + 3 Yr Warranty
Watts Hot Water Recirculating pump worked like a charm! Only took about an hour to install. Tips: 1. Turn off house water 2. Turn off water supply to hot water heater 3. Turn on furthest faucet and a bathtub or 2 to drain the hot water heater and release pressure. 4. Follow instructions! Make sure under sink bypass valve is facing correct direction. 5. At sink, Hot water should be left, cold water on right. Turn off both supply valves before removal of existing connections. 6. After everything is hooked up, turn house water on, open hot water heater supply then under faucet valves. Check for leaks. 7. Ensure hot water heater pilot light is still lit. Mine turned off in the process. Didn’t realize it till shower time. Works perfectly. Used to wait 5 minutes minimum for hot water to our master shower. Now 20 seconds!! I’ll take it!!! ... show more
