  • High quality instrument and easy to set up and get playing
Style: Rosewood
I'm a beginner banjo player and this is my first banjo. Therefore, I do not have the most experience to draw from when it comes to rating this instrument. However, I know what build quality looks and feels like, and this banjo looks and feels high quality. - It produces a loud and warm sound without any strange rattles. - The sting spacing works well for my fingers. - Setup was simple after watching a YT tutorial on where to put the bridge as the strings come pre-installed. - The wood of the neck is smooth and makes it easy to perform slides. - I can see that the banjo has a lot of adjustability, but I'm not experienced enough to start adjusting things like the head and such. ... show more

  • Looks and sounds beautiful
Style: Rosewood
We now have two Washburn banjos, a B9 and a B10. Both sound great. One is tuned in open A for A fiddle tunes, and the other in Bluegrass G. There isn't much difference in sound, but the B10 has prettier inlay. We set up both ourselves, placing the bridge with an equal distance between the bridge and the 12th fret and the 12th fret to the nut. One concern is the bridge dents the head a bit, but every banjo I've seen seems to have this. (Maybe the head needs tightening?) Regardless it sounds great and we're happy with it. ... show more

  • Very Disappointed -- Inadequate Packing & Missing Assembly Instructions / Owners Manual
Style: Alternative Engineered Wood
The package arrived on the expected date but I was immediately concerned when the box rattled when I picked it up. Upon opening the inner box, I discovered that the banjo was loose in the box. All of the Styro-foam that was meant to support the banjo was broken. Also, the bolts, bridge and other tools were loose in the box. Most frustrating was that the assembly / owner manual was missing and the paperwork that came in the box was for a guitar, not a banjo. As far as I can tell, the banjo is in good shape, but this is my first banjo, so I'll need to find assembly instructions, tuning instructions, etc. Bottom line: The instrument itself looks like a 5-star but the packing and lack of related documents make the overall experience a 3-star. ... show more

  • Banjo
Style: Rosewood
I received guitar instructions instead of banjo instructions. Also not completely put together. Already had strings break on the first day. Very unhappy it was a birthday gift. Buy something else this so far is crap.

  • nice banjo
Style: Alternative Engineered Wood
nice banjo but did not send the bridge with banjo, sent it later but the bridge is unfinished meaning there was no notches for the strings to sit in. Will attempt to put notches in myself as I'm done here
