This is my favorite ukulele that I own. It is such a beautiful instrument with the unique pattern of the koa wood. I love the Hawaiian sound of the solid koa wood and I love that I could get a solid koa wood ukulele at such an affordable price by a reputable company. Thank you Martin. I started playing my first Ukulele in early 2020. Later that year I purchased Kala, and have played it frequently for three years, until my wife purchased this Martin as a gift. First impressions: it’s lighter and easier to play. The sound is much brighter and clear. Fingering is slightly easier as the action is slightly lower. I’m sure to enjoy this for a few years.

Uke has nice feel and sound. but even after take very good care if it, in less the a year and half, the bridge did not resist the pressure of the strings and it came off. Not what I expected from a Martin uke

I shopped Ukes in Hawaii in December. And, as you might imagine, there are some great instruments out there. But they all seemed to have trade-offs; not the least of which was price with the nice solid Koa ukes running $900 and up. I ended up buying a solid mahogany uke off of Craig's List in Honolulu. It is nice, has nice tone, plays nice. Then, back on the mainland, we decided to get my mom an uke for Christmas. The end of the story is that we ordered the C1K. I am a Martin guitar lover, so it was an easy gamble. The uke arrived promptly--about a week. It comes with a nice gig bag and was packaged well. The delivery guy was very jealous. The uke is visually beautiful. The wood grains were pronounced with warm tones of browns and crème. But it is the ring of the uke and the playability that made me go WOW. This instrument played as well or better than some priced twice as much. I plan on buying a tenor for myself when my stringed-instrument slush fund recovers. This is an amazing value for a lifetime instrument.

I love the uke. It has great sound and is easy to play. This is the problem, I've had it for 3 weeks and I noticed the back at the seam appears to be separating! On a $500 instrument!? I called Martin and they said it's only covered by the warranty if it was sold by a certified dealer. I am waiting to hear whether the Amazon reseller is a certified dealer so I can take this to a Martin repair perso n. I hope this isn't going to be a crap show. Too much money for this type of problem after 3 weeks of play. I'm going to stop buying from Amazon resellers and go straight to the company. It's much more straight forward if you run into a problem.

This is a lovely ukulele and the sound is wonderful. My only issue is that it falls out of tune so quickly. Even while playing, I’ll notice it sounds a bit off. If I put it in my stand and come back 2 days later, it’s not a quick adjustment, it’s a full tuning every time.
