  • Excellent Ukulele Value
Color: Hight Light Zebrawood
This is an excellent tenor ukulele even at this modest price. The Zebrawood finish is stunning and the overall craftsmanship is very good. The sound is surprisingly rich and projects well. It plays easily. Fret board action is very good and the built in tuner is handy and accurate. This ukulele stays in tune. Once tuned after a day or 2, only minor adjustments were needed. The gig bag is marginal, it will keep the Uke from getting scratched but it's limited protection. I'll likely upgrade the case. I tried a couple of other ukuleles at a music store for more than double it's price and they didn't come close to the sound and playability of the Caramel. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Very Happy with this Ukulele
It's tough shopping on Amazon for your perfect match in an instrument, I know, I have bought a few. You research what your interested in and all seem to have great reviews, so after pondering you pull the trigger and buy one only to be disappointed when you got it. Well not with this one, I freakin love this ukulele! I was looking at another Caramel ukulele but this one was priced very attractively and had a pickup so I got it. This is so far my favorite of all my five ukuleles , feels like crafted instrument and not a toy. It has a great acoustic sound and rocks like a mutha when plugged in! It's also finished very nice with Mother of Pearl inlay around the sound hole and banding. The Acacia wood has a cool grain to it. I'm very happy with this purchase and don't think I will be looking for any more ukuleles for a long while, but when I do I will look to see what Caramel Ukuleles has to offer first. Now I need to find the amplifier of my dreams....... ... show more

  • Really nice uke for a great price!
Color: Ebony Acoustic Concert
Beautiful instrument, sounds great! The flourocarbon strings sound great and keep a tune really well. The slotted guitar headstock is fantastic for such a reasonable priced instrument.

  • Great cost performance!
Color: Ebony Electric Tenor
Overall, this is a very good ukulele (tenor size) for under $100. The construction is very good. The string height at the nut is just right. Pressing each string at the third fret, and then tapping the first fret, there is just a tiny gap, as it should be. The saddle measures 5.2mm, so the action is comfortable and neither too low nor too high. The bridge appears to be rosewood, a standard shape and tie-on type, NOT bridge pin type as in the photo. Perhaps the baritone has bridge pin type? The electronics work properly. The tuning machines are not branded, but work smoothly and look good(black hardware on this dark wood is suitable). The frets seem nicely level with no fret sprout, so feel smooth both top and bottom. The finish and binding are quite attractive. The sound both when strumming and fingerpicking is clear and rather pleasant, with good volume and sustain. Very playable! Those are the good points. Opening the box, the ukulele looked somewhat dirty. The fretboard wood and bridge appeared rather dull, and the body was a bit splotchy. The strings were junk fishing line and were immediately removed. I then carefully cleaned the instrument, conditioned the fretboard with conditioning oil and a gentle rub with ultrafine steel wool. The bridge was also conditioned as well as the entire body, neck and head. The upper strap button was strangely placed, so I relocated it to the more appropriate position (see photo). You can see the hole from the original button location which I will fill and color. The gig bag is very, very lightly padded, but it's better than nothing. The other accessories will likely remain in the accessories pouch. So, overall I think this is a very good buy. I'd have no qualms about buying the same one again if need be. ... show more

  • UKE Got To Be Kidding. WOW
Color: Solid Acacia Electric Tenor
I am new to the world of Ukelele, but I have been playing guitar for more than 30 years. Only 3 weeks ago I decided I wanted to learn to play Ukulele. I devoured the internet and youtube wanting to know as much as possible about my upcoming purchase. I decided to go with the Flight, Victoria as my very first Uke. It is by no means a cheap Ukulele for a start-up but I wanted a good first-hand experience with the instrument. I was quite happy with the purchase UNTIL A few days ago I saw the Caramel tenor, all solid Acacia, on Amazon, at a price that was a quarter of the Flight Victoria. I purchased it and received it yesterday and I had to write this review. Upon opening the Caramel box, I couldn't believe how beautiful the Ukulele is. I could really see the care and love that went into making this Uke. It is presented with Pride. This is a perfect Uke to learn on but it's an absolute keeper as well. I'm learning that many Ukes are quite overpriced and overrated. The Caramel, in my opinion is totally underrated. It's a good step above the Flight Victoria, which gets very favorable reviews by the online reviewers. Is it possible these reviewers don't know about the Caramel? I guess in some cases these are stores who only review what they carry. I've decided to make the Caramel my main Uke and the Flight my "other" Uke. This is no knock on the Flight Victoria I was happy with the purchase but happier that I discovered the Caramel at an amazing price and a step up in sound. I'm certain that I will likely upgrade again but I will always hang on to the Caramel. The Caramel CT204 is a MUST HAVE if you are starting off and want to have a really nice experience with an instrument. It has a pickup, onboard tuner and comes with many accessories and a nice pouch to carry them in. Kudos to the folks at Caramel for making it possible to have such a nice instrument at an incredible price. I hope more and more Ukulele lovers and those interested in learning to play this wonderful instrument will discover you as well. I'm going to give the Caramel Baritone a try next. ... show more

  • Great ukulele
Color: Butterfly Bocote Electric Tenor
I love this brand and its instruments. The tenor ukulele has worked beautifully for me as a professional musician. The tuning is great and it has a nice tone. I also bought a Caramel guitalele and I love it, too! The instruments are so fun to play.
