It definitely directs the heat, but we're thinking of getting a 2nd for more coverage. Easy to add the hooks and install, took all of 5 minutes. We gave it 4 stars because we thought the length was not long enough.

The logic is sound behind this item, it does seem to enhance the heat coming from the front of the heater. This vendor was a bit less and the reviews decent, so I tried one. The downside was there are three clamps that are held on by 2 thumbscrews each. The instructions show two holes for each, as expected but this shield had one hole per clamp position. The end clamps had only one hole for the top screw, and the center had one only for the bottom screw. Rather than send back I drilled a hole in the shield and all is good. Guess I got an oddball one as no other review seems to mention. I need three more, hoping for better results. ... show more

I like the reflector, it does what they say it will. It's a bit of a chore to attach it, but BE SURE to take it off between uses, even slight winds will blow the heater over if you leave it attached, just like a sail. Otherwise I like it.
