This is a nice unit if you use (instapot) cooking directions It is not a high psi pressure cooker only 11.6 psi. It is good for everyday cooking and looks nice. The instructions provide little help. Having owned several pressure cookers over the years this is not a pressure caner as advertised. The unit only reaches 80kpa (11.6 psi). A true pressure caner will reach 15 psi or (103 kpa). Yes you can can in this item but, very few thing can at 11 psi. 15 psi pressure is what is needed to really can meats & what you grow in your garden. Very heavy pan. Very good quality. Only takes a few a few seconds to put together. Hint to close the lid, push down a little bit on the top cover to close and lock it shut. Thinking about getting another one. Absolutely love it. Very easy to clean too. Definitely my best pan I own
