  • Perfect for stir-frying. Proper maintenance is key.
Size: 13.4 Inch-Wooden Lid
We first discovered this cast iron wok at a friend’s place when we went over for dinner. The host used this wok to cook quite a few stir-fried dishes: stir-fried snow crab legs with scallions, kung pao chicken, beef chow fun, and most notably egg fried rice. To our amazement, we found that during the whole process no ingredients stuck to the wok; even the fried rice didn’t leave behind any mess. The hosts loved this wok and wanted us to have it as well, but also cautioned us to make sure proper maintenance is done if we plan to own one. We soon ordered the same product after that visit. While we marveled at the exquisite craftsmanship, we researched online and read instructions for maintaining raw cast iron very carefully to make sure we do everything right. Basically, the key is to “season” the wok before first use and after each use. When you season raw cast iron, you apply a thin layer of cooking oil to its surface (make sure it’s completely dry) and heat it up; the chemical reaction gives the cast iron a non-stick coating. And that was exactly what we did: We seasoned it right after we received it, and right after each use since then. The outcome is incredible: The wok is now fully non-stick, and while it initially tended to get rusty with water residue, it’s now rust-free. This product is made of simple materials (raw cast iron), and with some simple steps to properly maintain it, it can certainly last for a very long time! We highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Great work for Chinese recipes
Size: 12.5 Inch
This is a cast iron wok so it warms slower than carbon steel, but it keeps the heat for a longer time. It is good from stir frying Chinese dishes that needs a lot of heat where your stove is not strong enough. The wok is well made with good material, I can feel the weight but it is not too heavy for me. The flat bottom makes it compatible with most stove tops. One thing to keep in mind is that it needs to be seasoned otherwise it is going to be sticky. ... show more

  • Cheap handle hooked not silver as shown in picture!
Size: 14.2 Inch-Wooden Lid
I purchased this item because one of its key features, as shown in the description and photos, was the silver hooks at the end. However, I received a cheaply made black metal hook instead! Why are they allowed to mislead customers by shipping something different from what’s advertised? How can Amazon permit these inaccurate descriptions and photos? They need to remove the misleading images and post actual photos of what they’re shipping—I’m sure at least 50% of buyers wouldn’t purchase it if they knew the truth. The silver hooks were a major selling point, but what I received is completely different. See my picture, and you’ll understand—it’s way too ugly! ... show more

  • Outstanding and Gorgeous and All The Things
Size: 14.2 Inch-Wooden Lid
The media could not be loaded. Outstanding and Gorgeous and All The Things I originally bought two different Woks from two different brands but this is the one that we kept. It came in this beautiful black box with painted features and shipping was very fast. The wok is cast iron but it's also fairly lightweight. The lid is so Stunning! It's hard to see in the video but the imagery of the lid evokes a bridge over water. That "spot" that you see on the lid is not a blemish - it looks like when the sun is reflected on a river. The "bridge" part of the lid is sloped differently on one side of the crest to the other so it really feels natural and organic. In a very surprising way, this lid actually evoked an emotion from me. I felt like I was being invited on a long journey but that the journey was going to be warm and fun. I doubt the company will ever read this review but I wanted to thank them anyway; their kind sentiment was not lost on me. The Wok itself is FREAKING AMAZING. We have used cast iron for 22 years so we're very accustomed to seasoning, maintenance, and care. If this is your first time, please do research on how to properly do these things. For us, we get the pan hot for about 5 minutes until it begins to smoke and then we turn off the heat but leave it on that same burner and add the oil to the wok and then use a paper towel to evenly apply the coating. Now that we have this great lid, I can just cover the wok and the lid will keep the smoke in until the pan cools down. For cleaning, all you have to do is put hot water into the wok and boil it for 5 - 8 minutes. Even with food stuck onto the bottom, it will lift if you gently use a wooden spatula to "scrape" the bottom of the lid while the water is boiling. 100% of the times this works. You don't need to Ever scrub your cast iron. Just boil it and be patient. Then season afterwards. We season our wok and pans after every use. I bought a "wok whisk" thinking it was the right thing to do - it WAS NOT. It broke a piece of the seasoning off our wok. Please just use the boiling method and do not buy the wok whisk. My husband has not stopped cooking in this thing. He uses it for everything now. I'm really amazed and happy and pleased with this purchase. I know you'll love this too. ... show more

  • Thin
Size: 12.59"-wood lid
Love the look but it is the thinnest cast iron I have ever seen. I cook with cast iron all them time and this does not even hold up to them. See more like steel.
