Description

WAGO revolutionized electrical interconnections by replacing traditional screw connections with faster, vibration-proof, and maintenance-free spring pressure, setting the industry standard. Pull the lever up, insert a conductor and push the lever back down – done! As tool-free, lever-actuated connectors, WAGO's 221 Series Splicing Connectors easily, quickly and safely connect solid, stranded and fine-stranded conductors ranging from 20–10 AWG for 221-61x. Setting new standards in electrical installation, the 221 Series LEVER NUTS splicing connector is now smaller, more user-friendly and made for larger conductors. Pull the lever up, insert a conductor and push the lever back down – done! Confidence occurs when connections are strong and reliable. That's why we work every day to improve the connections to our partners by making their connections safer, stronger and more efficient. This is our mission: Empower connections.

  • I find these to be a great improvement over wire nuts.
Size: 5-Lever Pattern Name: Single
I find these to be a great improvement over wire nuts. I read another review that did not like them because the wires had to be "straight". This is quite true, all you have to do is pinch the solid wire a couple of times with your Kleins electrical pliers to flatten them out. (This is less critical when using stranded wire.) I wanted to explain this to the reviewer but sadly comments are no longer permitted. Wire nuts are not too difficult to work with when you have brand new wires in a new installation where there's plenty of extra wire to work with. However, when you're reworking an old junction box twisting these short wires together can be quite a chore. I find it much easier to flatten out the ends (as shown on the Wago box) and insert the wires. Also, if you ever have to go back and rework your connections they come apart with almost no effort. I find that when the wire ends are new, or flattened out, the wires are unlikely to pull loose. You can see some videos online where people intentionally put excessive current through these connectors as a test. I saw some 20 amp rated Wago start to melt at around 100+ amps. This is very close to the melting temperature of 12AWG wire itself. It is true, that a well done set of twisted wires with a wire nut can withstand a bit more current, but the safety factor with Wago connectors seem more than adequate. The significant improvement in making connections and taking them apart is well worth a very slight reduction in current carrying capacity. With Wago connectors you get: Visual Confirmation of Electrical Connections Easy wire removal and replacement Can be used to connect solid and stranded wires Combine wire sizes with confidence You might be interested to know that wire nuts are pretty much exclusive to North America. Wago connectors are common in Europe, with millions upon millions being used (just like wire nuts in North America). Also, watch out for Wago imitations. There are many ways to save money in life, electrical connectors is NOT one of them. ... show more

  • Excellent, saves tine and frustration
Size: 5-Lever Pattern Name: Single
I had to wire a 10 g feed wire with multiple 12 g receptacles and junction boxes and this product was very reliable and easy to use. There was a bit of a learning curve- make sure the bare wire is inserted all the way into the port and make sure it is straight without bends. But when used properly, this product will save you alot of time and frustration. Because they are flat, you can push them into the back or sides of boxes and get more clearance than normal. For DIYs like me, the main challenge in crowded boxes is wire management. So if you are just getting started, make sure your wires all all lined up in advance, you know the direction you want your wires to enter the connector, and you know where your connector will end up in the box. This is important because although they hold wires very tightly, you can't expect them to hold onto wires with significant tension trying to pull them out. And finally, wrap them with a layer of electrical tape to make sure the levers don't pop up- not likely to happen, but no reason to take chances. ... show more

  • best way to connect wires yet
Size: 5-Lever Pattern Name: Single
If you're still using wire nuts, I pity you. These are much much better. Yes they are more expensive, but unless you are an electrician that is doing 100s of houses and needs to keep costs down as much as possible, the time and headaches these will save you are well worth a few cents extra per part. It is way easier also if you make a mistake to disassemble it and rewire without any trouble. ... show more

  • Big brother to the great Wago wire nut alternative
Size: 5-Lever Pattern Name: Single
Better than wire nuts in every way! This is the larger version of the Wago wire connectors, idbinly use this if you will use 10 guage wire. They are quite a bit larger than the original ones that support up to 12 guage. I'd only purchase these if you were usingn10 guage wire because even the smaller version has been shown to handle way way more current than even a 10 guage wire is rated for. ... show more
