My husband is a trucker & recently bought this as his old GPS was out of date - he said this one is the best one ever - very user friendly, has an app to download as well to stay in touch with other truckers to know what's going on in certain areas when driving, nice display, and gives him vital info for conditions he needs to know on the road - if you are a trucker this is highly recommended

Stick with the older models

Upgraded from the 810 and wish I would not have done that. The icons on the screen cannot be deleted nor replaced and the saved addresses never communicate with the cloud whatsoever. I will be returning this model and going back to the prior model. The only true difference between this, and the last model is the addition of wind speed, and a different home screen layout that you cannot change as the user. It is not worth upgrading.

Getting better every day

It is remarkably better than the model that came out in the late 20-teens. Even with software and map updates, this is the first real, serious routing solution they've had to offer. I'm not talking about hardware and so forth; I'm talking about routing. Even with this new model (as of Sept. 2026), I see routes I commonly take all the time here in NC that are rural routes but are heavily trucked legally, and the Garmin refuses to put me on the route. Several of these situations revolve around coming to my farm, where I park the truck. It's rural, but a wide variety of types of trucks legally use these roads around my farm daily. If I were not a local, it would regularly send me anywhere from 30 to 70 miles out of my way to get to where I want to go. IOW, if you're in an unfamiliar area, just check Google or Apple just in case as a backup. My biggest goal was using this when I'm in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and not getting put on a route or in a tunnel that doesn't allow trucks or hazmat. It does this extremely well, and it's something that Google and Apple cannot replicate whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, I use it all the time, even when I know exactly where I'm going for a variety of great reasons. Garmin really has developed and matured the product into a worthy piece of kit, they just need to figure out the mapping part better, which I know they are working on constantly. As a side note, I have submitted current road closure and re-opening information and they get back to you within a couple weeks. I think this is great.

Después de usar este Garmin Dezl OTR720, puedo decir que es una excelente inversión para quienes manejan camiones o vehículos grandes. La pantalla de 7 pulgadas es amplia, brillante y muy fácil de leer incluso mientras conduces. La configuración inicial fue sencilla y el GPS calcula rutas teniendo en cuenta las dimensiones del vehículo, lo que da mucha tranquilidad al evitar carreteras o puentes que no son adecuados para camiones. La navegación es precisa, las indicaciones por voz son claras y la pantalla responde muy bien al tacto. También me gustó la rapidez con la que recalcula la ruta cuando es necesario.La calidad de construcción se siente sólida y el funcionamiento ha sido muy confiable. Si conduces profesionalmente o haces viajes largos, definitivamente lo recomiendo.
