I get hot very easily, and my roommate can't stand having the fan on. So I put this on the side table and it blows on me, but misses her. :) It works beautifully, but the on/off switch is a little awkward (it's a dial on the back so you have to pick up the whole unit to get to it. The fan itself is a sphere and sits on a plastic base, so you can move the fan in any direction you want. I usually use it on low speed because that's enough for me, but on super-hot days, I'll move it a bit further away and turn it on high. It's tiny, but that's what I wanted - I don't need a fan taking up the whole side table and blowing all over the room. Would be perfect on a side table (like I have), in an office cube, on the bedside table, or in many other applications. It really takes up no room at all, but blows nice, cool air. It's made of quality materials and is very sturdy. I use it every day and it works like a charm every time! It's also very quiet - I use it when we're listening to music or watching TV, and I can barely hear it. Great value for the money and easily solved a comfort problem in our house! ... show more

Bought this little guy for the office as sometimes it gets a bit warm where I work. I like that the fan is spherical in shape but sits on a little base so that you can adjust the angle however you wish! It's not fixed onto its base so you have full control as to where it's pointing to. The fan has 3 modes - off, 1, and 2. I personally prefer keeping it on the number 1 setting as it pushes quite a bit of air and is relatively quiet. Very light weight and portable and a great buy for the cost. This is a great little fan for bedside or desktop. It is super quiet on low, just as quiet as the Zippy. But pushes air further. Zippy in my opinion is Vornado’s quietest. Lots of people tend to like white noise, I don’t. The fan on low literally makes zero noise. If you are noise sensitve this is the fan for you. I love the adjustability, you can move it in any direction, face it anyway you like. Two minor gripes. The silicone ring is not rubbery enough, pending the surface you put it on you can hear a vibration. I have to put it on a cloth when I have it on my bedside table. Definitely not a big deal but kind of ruins the aesthetic a little bit. Also the dial to turn it up and down is completely smooth and could be difficult for some people. Not the best design. If I had any suggestions for changes, add a couple of bumps to the switch to make it easier, and sell this thing in numerous different colors like Zippy. A navy and a white one would be perfect. This fan isn't nearly as strong as I thought it would be in terms of air flow. The "detachable base" is also kind of a joke. However, it is very compact, does fit well on my small and rather crowded desk, and does an okay enough job at cooling that I'll keep it. It's probably okay if you don't need something with a lot of power, or have a small space to put it. But if you want a fan with more powerful air flow, this is not it. ... show more
