  • strong airflow and easy to adjust
This pedestal fan has been such a reliable addition to my home. The airflow is strong even on the lowest setting, and the oscillation helps cool the whole room evenly. I really like that you can adjust both the height and the tilt of the fan, it makes it easy to get the air moving exactly where you need it. Assembly was simple and took just a few minutes. The base feels sturdy and balanced, so it doesn’t wobble or make too much noise when it’s running. It’s lightweight enough to move from room to room, which I do often during the summer. Durability-wise, it’s held up well even after regular use. The black finish looks sleek and doesn’t collect dust as easily as I expected. It’s not silent, but the sound is more of a soft hum, perfect for background noise at night. ... show more

  • Good Fan - Good price.
I bought this fan to replace a fan that died after many, many years; it speaks to its durability. It served me so well that I bought the same fan again. The fan is a little noisy, but no more than any fan I've had in the same price range. It doesn't wake me up or keep me awake. As you turn the level down, it gets quieter and quieter. It is set at the height I want it to be, and it doesn't slide down. It blows strongly and keeps me cool. I seldom have to turn on the air conditioner, and that saves a lot of money. I've had this fan for about three months now, and it is performing as well as the previous fan. I'm sure it will last at least as long as the previous fan. I don't have a remote control and I don't need one. ... show more

  • Lasko fan is excellent.
Its summer. Its Texas. I'm outside and dying. Order the Lasko fan. Arrives quickly, next day. Good quality, easy to assemble outside and its hot. I hurry. It's together. Mother of Tender Mercies can I get some air flow. Plug it in. Success!! Quiet. Moves lots of air. Sudden relief. Versatile- and use outside and in garage. I don't even put it on highest- still provides blessed wind. Who needs a remote control- set it and forget it. Sit in chair; start to drift off to a cool nap. Wake up. It's hot! Where's my fan?!! Wife has, while I slept, unplugged and moved it to a more advantageous place for her comfort as she cooks outside. May need another. Fan, not wife. Lasko fan is recommended. ... show more

  • Ok but a little noisy.
Fan has been working well for a few months. Price was ok. Assembly is quite easy. Airflow is great. I ordered the manual model not the remote control model. My only issue is the motor makes a noticeable humming noise. I have owned many prior versions of this unit so I know this is not normal for a lasko. ... show more

  • Super fan, but perhaps not for everyone
This fan was a great buy. It's nearly perfect for my own needs, but I'll list its qualities just in case some of them might not work so well for you. It wasn't difficult to assemble. The hardest part was getting the front cage to snap on properly, but even that only took a few tries. And since the cage just hooks together rather than needing screws, popping it off to clean the blade will be a breeze. (Although, there's not much of a hook to those hooks, so I don't plan to pop the cage off any more than I absolutely have to. If those hooks wear down or break, then that's that.) Also, all you need to put it together is your own two hands. No tools needed. It's very powerful. It moves a great deal of air, even on low (I haven't gone past medium yet; I'm afraid it might blow the cat across the room on high!), which is a relief. For two weeks when my A/C was out, I needed a fan that could cool me off even though the air it was moving was hot and humid. This fan blows with such force that even warm air movement is refreshing. And its force means you can set it at a fair distance and still feel it, but it's also strong enough to blow papers and stuff around if they're in the fan's path, even when they aren't particularly close to it. The oscillator has a wide swing to it, about 90 degrees, which I suppose could either be a negative or a positive. If you want it to swing but still stay relatively contained at a small angle, you may not care for this. On the other hand, it's perfect when you have a small area of cool air (like a new portable a/c with a fairly puny blower) and want to distribute it far and wide. The cord is fairly short—rather shorter than I would've liked, honestly. I didn't measure it, but I'd guess it to be maybe 6 feet. That could be a problem if you want to use it in a place without an outlet handy, but a cheap extension cord solved that problem for me. (Incidentally, there is no grounding prong on the plug, so you can use a 2-hole extension cord if necessary.) The pole has a decent amount of extension to it; I'd say you can adjust the height by about a foot and a half. At its tallest, from base to motor is (again, this is an estimate) probably 4-1/2 feet. This makes it pretty versatile; you can stand it on the floor or shorten it and put it on a (large) table. At full length, though, that also makes it a bit top-heavy. It's fine if you leave it alone, but the cat knocked it over when I first put it together and now he's scared of it. It's loud. Even on low it's pretty loud, compared to what I remember my last box fan sounding like. It doesn't bother me at all, but if you're someone looking for a fan for your bedroom, and you need quiet to sleep, you probably won't like this. Seriously, I have a hard time imagining a fan with this small a footprint with as much power as this one has. I wish the cord were a bit longer, like I said, but that's really my only complaint. When the air conditioner died, it was a real lifesaver! ... show more

  • Failed to work properly for 1 summer. Loud is an understatement.
Haven’t used it much this summer-even on the lowest setting it’s very loud and the lowest setting isn’t very low. I’ve got a big living room, but it’s still tends to blow everything around and make too much racket to hear anything else. I’ve also had problems with it, not staying extended. So the center column where you fit the two tubes together, it has fallen down. It’s easy to use but I would love a greater range of speed settings. I don’t miss having a remote control, but the center pole connection shouldn’t be failing after just a couple months of not using it hardly at all. Yes, it’s lightweight and relatively inexpensive but I wish I’d picked a slightly more expensive version with more options ... show more

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect for a Hot “Fall” in New England!
This Lasko Pedestal Fan has been a total lifesaver! The adjustable height makes it easy to position anywhere—whether I’m working in my home office or winding down in the bedroom. The oscillating feature keeps the air circulating evenly, and the three speed settings give just the right amount of cooling for any time of day. It’s lightweight and easy to move from room to room, and I really appreciate how quiet it runs even on the highest setting. Honestly, I didn’t expect to need a fan this late in the year, but with this heat wave, I’m so glad I ordered it! Highly recommend for anyone dealing with an unseasonably warm fall. ... show more
