My mother used to have horrible back pain getting out of bed so I got her this pad with the medical bed and she says she's so happy with her new bed and the pad was the cherry on top because the years of back pain is finally gone and she doesn't want to leave her bed anymore and now wakes up like a little kid groaning with 5 more minutes on top of 5 more minutes and do I have to? which is very unlike her 😂 She's getting to that age so we're glad she's finally getting that well deserved rest instead of stress. It was very easy to set up and explaining to her how to use it was simple itself, it seems very durable and fits her twin sized bed perfectly. I even tested it out myself before she did, then she spawned in and got me off as soon as I got comfortable 🤣 She was saying the firmness was just right and it supported her body perfectly to where she feels like she's finally getting that good sleep she hasn't had in years and has downgraded from needing about 10 pillows down to 1.

Relieves pressure points

We have only have this for 6 days and already my mom’s bed sore is 95% cleared up! She reports that it is comfortable to sleep on! It is neither hot nor cold (some air mattresses can be cold). It’s not too thick so a normal fitted sheet fits atop it (although I do recommend a twin extra long sheet for a hospital bed). The motor is not loud at all. The pad stays inflated if you turn it off, or you can leave it on so that it will alternate pressure periodically (I think it’s every 20 minutes). Very pleased so far.

A godsend for keeping a bedbound patient comfortable

My mom is 100% bedbound on hospice at home with severe dementia. Prior to getting this we were struggling with a bedsore and hospice will not provide an air pressure mattress until it reaches a stage iV bedsore which to me is much too late. So I ordered this myself and am so pleased with the fact that her bedsore cleared up right away and she has never had another. It is quiet and comfortable for my mom who is very picky and cleans well when soiled. This has been a godsend for keeping her comfortable. And the pricepoint is excellent.

Excellent Product; not authorized in Geriatric Rehabilitation environment-Excellent for Home Use

Although I returned this item, my return had nothing to do with the product I received. Because of this I wanted to write a positive review of the item. 💥Delivery; as with most items ordered through this Amazon app was prompt with no issues. I usually meet the driver’s at the door and have only had polite, respectful drivers. 💥Product packaging was secured and simple directions were included. The directions advised to wipe down product to remove confined manufacturing “plastic” smell {essentially let item air out prior to use}. I followed directions and used Dawn dish detergent and warm water to wipe top & bottom of item, as well as letting it sit overnight to “breathe”. In the morning there was only a mild, almost unnoticeable plastic smell. 💥I opened item on a Queen size bed which the item covered head-to-toe and covered more than half the size of my mattress width . As the instructions read it took less than 10 minutes to fill air pressure. The plug in pump attachment has a mild humming but unnoticeable unless you’re really listening for it. Directions read to fill air pressure use firm setting then adjust-I found the less firm the more the patient feels the pulsating movement from upper to lower body. 💥I removed day clothing {making sure I could really feel the air rotation which I did feel which also reinforced the benefits of this item}. I give the air pressure & rotation a 8 out of 10 rating. I felt the rotation & air pressure could’ve been a little stronger but I was still satisfied with my purchase. 💥💥REASON FOR ITEM RETURN: This purchase was for an elderly 86 year old overweight female living in a Geriatric residence. My intention preventive steps to bed sores and lack of movement. The problem; which is why my rating is 4-stars instead of 5 is the Geriatric Rehabilitation Ctr explained due to “Fire Safety” the item doesn’t fit approved criteria for use in this setting. Thus my return.💥💥 💥I thought the quality of this item was spectacular, the pricing was excellent….and the return process worry-free. I would definitely purchase this item again for home use. 💥My only suggestion is that a bullet point reading “Item may not be authorized if used outside of the home due to …..____ fill in the blank”.

The best bed purchase for anyone, not just those who are bed-bound!

When I came across this mattress pad, I could not believe how affordable it was! So much cheaper than the full mattresses or beds similar, yet still had a pump with it, and covered the entire bed. My dad has been very ill the past few months, and pretty much confined to the bed for a good portion of those months, especially in the beginning. 3 weeks in, and he started to develop bed sores on his bottom. He was in and out of the hospital twice, and in a rehab center for 8 days in-between those hospital visits, and those bed sores, only got worse. So, I went searching for something to help with them so they would not get worse. This has been a huge help! They have not gotten any worse, no new ones have formed, and the other ones have started to heal nicely with the help of this mattress, Medihoney, and Terrasil. As someone who has chemical sensitivities, I was concerned I would need to air this out before bringing it in the house, but the smell was not very noticeable at all, until I put my nose right down to it. Even then, not terrible. Being vinyl, I just knew it would be awful smelling, but it wasn't. I was able to put it on his bed, and be in the small enclosed room he has with no issues at all. I thought once I closed his bedroom door, that it would then permeate the tiny room, but again to my surprise, it was not noticeable, even in the slightest way. I had left it, closed the door, and did not return for an hour, and I could not smell it. Such a pleasant surprise. The pump is so extremely quiet, we cannot hear it. Dad can never hear it at all, but I can sometimes hear a bit of a hiss when it is adjusting, BUT there has to be complete silence for me to hear it, and I have excellent hearing. If there is any movement going on in the room, or the next one, I cannot hear it. If the radio is on, forget it, no way can I hear it. It really is impressive how quiet it is. I have it hanging on the side of his platform bed at the end, and it hangs perfectly right there, and it's out of the way. It took about 10 minutes on the highest level for it to inflate. It does it very quietly and slowly. So much so, you might not think it's doing anything at all for a minute. Then you see some of the little pillowing form, and you know it's working like it should. Once it was inflated, I laid directly on top of it for a few minutes to see what it felt like. In just those few minutes, I decided I must have one for myself! It was very soothing, and comforting to lay on. I was kind of surprised to feel that way so quickly, but I really want one! I will have to wait though, as it is not a necessity for me, just a want. I sleep in my recliner anyway, but this could be used there as well since it is so adjustable. We have it set to the highest setting, and my dad didn't even notice it at all the first week or so. He said it was comfortable, but couldn't tell it was there. It was just like his mattress. He is just not very observant, and has dementia too, so I chalked it up to that. I asked him last night if he noticed it, now that it's been 2 full weeks, and he said he does, but that it's so subtle. I asked if he didn't have it anymore, would he miss it, and he said a resounding YES. I asked him if it was comforting the way it adjusts, and he also said yes. It's strangely comforting! Like I said, I want one! Mine did not come with any straps, but maybe it is meaning flaps that are at each end of the mattress to slide under the mattress to hold it in place. We have not really tucked them under, and it has stayed in place with no issues at all. I have it directly on the mattress, then have the fitted sheet on top of it, and also a bed pad on top of the sheet, which is probably why it took him so long to notice it doing anything. I do turn the mattress off when he gets up in the morning. I wasn't sure if it would need pumped up again every night, but it doesn't. It holds the air perfectly. Before he gets in bed, I turn it on again. It probably doesn't matter when I turn it back on though, because it is still fully inflated, which was a nice surprise. I thought I might need to turn it on 10 minutes before he would go to bed each night, but I am happy to say, that is not the case. Whether you need this for someone who is bed-bound, or want it just to have, it's one of the best, most inexpensive bed items for anyone. You'll wish you'd had it years ago. *This mattress pad was purchased at full price, not discounted or free.

MY EXPERIENCE ❤

I have fibromyalgia/myafacia syndrome, piriphormis syndrome & trochanter bursitis on both sides. When laying or sitting i constantly have to shift or get up & stand until blood flows back through my entire gluteus minimus/ maximus & hamstrings. I went through many soft pillows & gel pillows & it worked for about 2 years. But as my body continues to change I have to keep up with how it changes. So I did some research on how to help relieve these conditions and stumbled across an alternating air compression mattress. I purchased the 1st one through another place that was selling it for $50.00 less. The mat & cord was new but the machine was busted. I tested it & was loving it but after 45 minutes it stopped working. So I returned & took a chance on purchasing this brand (VIVE). I purchased it 2/17/23 & received it on 2/18/23. I tested it for 2 hours it survived. Now for the ultimate test and experience. My experience on the bed pad through the night was rough for a few hours due to my body not being used to the pressure. Mind you I placed the pad under my bedsheet & had the pressure on low. So I placed a very thin layered gel pillow under my bottom & it worked. After a few hours of laying on it my body started to get used to the pressure as it alternated different pressure points. I then removed the thin layered gel pillow & it felt great! Before using the pad my right hip was sore due to poor position of sleeping. After sleeping on that pad not only did it help take the sore hip away, but I also had the best rest/sleep that I haven't had in a long time🥲. The motor is extremely quiet🤗. There's a faint vibration @ the foot of the pad where the hose connect to the machine that's very soothing & relaxing 😴. So this is my experience with the pad so far so good 👍. I'm hoping & praying 🙏 that this pad & motor lasts for years. I will definitely update my review in about 3 months if it's still going strong 💪. But until then, I'd like to thank "VIVE" for making this unit affordable for those of us that need pain relief that most insurance companies will not cover 🤦🏾♀️. Oh I 4got to mention that I took a chance on purchasing the (VIVE) alternating air pressure chair pillow. I'm hoping that it works as expensive as it is. I will be leaving a review on its advertising "VIVE" page here on Amazon where I have purchased it. I'll be receiving that 2morro. So I hope that my review will help those of you like me who suffer with chronic pain. Feel better 2day 😌.

Perfect for my needs

I have been using about a week. It fits the bill perfectly..much quieter than the other hospital bed in had. I sleep very well..I did try the bed without it..nut found my sleep and comfort was greatly improved using the pressure matress. Good buy.

This alternating air mattress pad really made a difference with my 87 year old husband‘s bed sore. He was in a lying or sitting position about 23 hours a day for 2 1/2 weeks. All the usual things were being done, but the air mattress really sped up the healing process. I also got him an alternating air pressure pad for his recliner here on Amazon. It is now 97% healed. We have had the two air pads for approximately two weeks I highly recommend this mattress pad! It is very easy to use and set up.
