Wow! I found the 13 piece set on Amazon and I think it was a real buy. Viking is known for its quality and I had picked up an 8 inch skillet at Marshall’s on sale to try it. I left it and it cooked well so I was looking for a good set. The 13 piece set was around $399 and it was well worth it. We previously had a Cuisinart set that was stainless steel and it lasted for 30 years. There are measuring lines and some of the saucepans, which may be helpful when cooking things. Also, the handle say that they stay cool. We are trying to stay away from harmful nonstick materials and the nonstick pans that we have used don’t last. We wanted a product that is easy to clean, take some scraping without damaging the pan, and that can be thrown in the dishwasher. Each pan fills heavy and you can tell these are quality pans that will last for a long time. Great value for the money. ... show more

We cook in our kitchen on a large commercial gas cooktop with mostly commercial-ware. It's just something we've been doing for 30 years having been in the industry. Most of our pots and pans are NSF heavy gauge purchased from our favorite restaurant supply and thick gauge aluminum. We do cook with steel, but the bar is high for steel pots for us. From stove/cooktop to oven isn't unusual, and these pots work well. While these are not NSF (National Sanitation Foundation, approved for use in a commercial kitchen), they are high quality, good strong pans. The lids are adequate (I prefer over sized lids that are multi pot sized), glass with a rubber protector over the steel handle (a plus). As with ANY steel pot, they will discolor with time, achieve scratches and marks and look worn. If you are a person that wants a display kitchen with display pans, then buy something to show off that's cheap. These pots wear their cooking battle scars with pride, and are easily cleaned back to daily use without looking like a cheap thin teflon pan with a bakelite handle. With over 6 months of hard use, they still look pretty new, and have the feel and movement of a higher quality commercial steel pot. Tip: At home, save your pots when cleaning while hot...cool with water away from the handle and handle joint towards the main pot...this cools the pot rivets first, and allows the heat to spread over the large part of the pot. Cooling the pan/pot surface first, concentrates all the heat at the handle, and weakens the rivets over time from the heat/cool cycle... Cuisinez avec Joie! ... show more

I searched for pots and pans for quite a while. I am so happy with my purchase. The videos and reviews sold me! They are shiny stainless steel with clear lids. Each pan has a good weight. Love it! Easy to clean. It's efficient. It's non-stick if you prepare it correctly and use the proper temp. If you are boiling, simmering or frying something you only need to have it at medium or medium-high (6 to 7 on the dial) for it to do its job. Example, I took a piece of chicken breast, put some olive oil in the pan and fried it (6-7 on the dial) and it came out perfectly cooked and tasty. No scorching and a breeze to clean. ... show more

Easy to clean with bar keepers friend. Great quality. My only gripe is that the 3-ply doesn’t seal to the edge. So the aluminum center is exposed. So when you put it in a dishwasher it is rough on the edges and make it feel sharp.
