  • Our chickens love it and keeps them safe
Style: Doom Roof Size: 13.1x9.8x6.4ft
We let our chickens free roam during the day but we like to have them rounded up at night. They have a good sized coop but we wanted them to have a bit more freedom to roam around at night or rough weather. The frame was fairly easy to assemble (highly recommend 2 people). the mesh was the hardest part. Do yourself a favor and wear gloves. Between the sharp edges when cutting and using the wire cutters our hands are blistered and cut up. But the run is awesome and very sturdy. ... show more

  • feels sturdy and durable
Style: Spire Roof with Split Door Size: 6.5x9.8x6.4ft
I recently acquired the VEVOR Large Metal Chicken Coop with Run, and I've been thoroughly impressed with its design, durability, and practicality. As someone who takes the well-being of my feathered friends seriously, I was on the hunt for a coop that would not only accommodate my chickens but also provide a safe and comfortable environment. Here's what I found: Assembly: The assembly of the coop, while not a breeze, was manageable for two people. The instructions were fairly clear, and all the necessary hardware was included. It took a few hours to put everything together, but the end result was worth the effort. Design: The VEVOR Large Metal Chicken Coop features a well-thought-out design with a peaked roof. This design not only adds a touch of charm to the coop but also ensures good water runoff. The metal construction feels sturdy and durable, giving me confidence in its long-term reliability. Space: This coop offers plenty of room for my chickens to move around comfortably. The integrated run allows them to access the outdoors while staying safe from predators. The spacious interior is well-ventilated, which is crucial for the well-being of the birds. Weather Protection: One of the standout features is the waterproof cover. This cover provides protection from rain and harsh sunlight, ensuring that my chickens have a comfortable living space year-round. It also helps keep the coop clean, which is a huge time-saver for me. Accessibility: The coop features multiple doors, making it easy to access for cleaning and feeding. The large main door is especially convenient for daily maintenance. Durability: The metal construction appears durable and capable of withstanding the elements. So far, it has held up well to both sun and rain, which is reassuring for a long-term investment. Security: The coop has a lockable door and secure latches, providing peace of mind against potential predators. The wire mesh is sturdy and helps keep your chickens safe. Value for Money: Considering the size, design, and durability, this coop offers good value for the price. It's a solid investment for anyone who wants a spacious and secure shelter for their poultry. Conclusion: The VEVOR Large Metal Chicken Coop with Run is an excellent choice for anyone looking to provide a safe and comfortable living space for their chickens, ducks, or rabbits. Its sturdy construction, ample space, and thoughtful design make it a practical and aesthetically pleasing addition to any backyard. While assembly may require a bit of effort, the end result is a reliable coop that will keep your feathered friends happy and secure. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this coop to fellow poultry enthusiasts. ... show more

  • Add hardware cloth for serious predators
Style: Doom Roof with Split Door Size: 19.7x9.8x6.4ft
The dome shape of this coop sheds water easily. The split door is an excellent idea. The instructions were clear, and all the parts were there. It stood unmoved in high winds while it was under construction. However, as a short, widowed senior citizen, I found it very difficult to get the last top cross piece installed. WD40 on the joints helped. I also found it difficult to stretch the included chicken wire taut enough to maintain a good solid arch under the tarps. I fixed dips with pieces of stiff hardware cloth on the outside and vertical supports on the inside. I needed roosts anyway, so it was just a matter of placing them where I needed roof support. I added more tarps to cover the entire roof area for shade in the summer and to keep chickens dry in winter. The vinyl covered chicken wire is easy to work with but far too flimsy to survive a determined predator attack. I added 1/2 inch hardware cloth on the two ends, on the doors, and on the sidewalls. This keeps snakes out too. The extra weight is concerning, but the frame seems to be held up in part by the stiffness of the hardware cloth on the vertical sides. I was afraid to cover the entire roof in hardware cloth because the weight might buckle the frame. The frame stands on short legs, which creates a gap at the bottom. I had to add a wire predator barrier on the ground outside of the coop anyway, so I just brought it up the outside walls a few inches. The added cost of the hardware cloth, extra zip ties, extra tarps, and extra tie wire made it more expensive than I had planned, but the coop looks nice. The split doors are especially nice. I think with normal maintenance, this coop will last for years. Now that I've had practice, I plan to add another of these coops in the future. ... show more

  • It's not a coop
Style: Spire Roof with Split Door Size: 19.7x9.8x6.4ft
I used this enclosure in tandem with an existing chicken coop. My area has lots of creatures who enjoy the taste of chickens and chicken eggs (hawks, owls, fox, coyotes, raccoons, skunks, weasels, etc). This item is a great start to keeping my birds secure and predator resistant. The box arrived slightly damaged but no missing parts or damaged pieces. Assembly was straight forward, with securing the wire netting taking the most time. I spent extra time partially burying the netting around the bottom and lining the inner and outer perimeter with large river rock to deter anything from digging underneath. I will be adding an electric fence as well. I didn't use the tarp because I didn't need it. The wind would have chewed it up in no time anyway. Overall a decent enclosure for the price. I did get a second enclosure which I ordered from the Vevor website. I would recommend going that route instead of buying through Amazon. The price was cheaper and shipping was much quicker (I got it delivered almost 2 weeks faster than it took Amazon). ... show more

  • Second one I bought for my chickens- takes a while to assemble if you're only one person
Style: Spire Roof with Split Door Size: 13.1x9.8x6.4ft
This is the second version of this that I've purchased and I think it is of better quality and easier to assemble than the first one I got. Admittedly, wish I had a second person to help me assemble it, but it was a nice afternoon to be outside and I got it done in about 4 hours on my own. Not SUPER secure but for what I have set up in my yard, it'll be fine for the chickens. ... show more

  • Decent for price
Style: Doom Roof Size: 6.5x9.8x6.4ft
It's not a single door it is a split door. The chicken wire that it came with is very flimsy. Will have to go over it with something more sturdy but decent structure considering price these days.
