This product worked best for the existing shower pipe. Initially tried using an extender on the previous fixture, but it did not work w/the existing pipe in the wall. Did not want to risk taking out the existing pipe and risk leaks. This was a great solution, so considering purchasing another for the other shower for guests that are taller than the rest of us. This takes less than 15 minutes to install, and there's not too many pieces. I really like the flow control knob which is built into the assembly. I use my 'regular' shower knob to turn on and adjust the water temperature, then the flow control knob can be used to easily adjust how much water is coming out, without messing up the temperature setting from the main tap/control. The rain shower itself has plenty of water pressure, and the handheld does, too (and is very convenient for cleaning the shower). Excellent water pressure whether using the rainfall or handheld. I purchased two different yet similar units before this one, but both were sent back because they lacked pressure. If you remove the plastic water saver piece, you’ve even better water pressure. The extra height allowed via the rain fall extension is great for persons taller than 5’11. It’s a very nice shower combo with a modern aesthetic. The only frustration I had with it is that if the person taking a shower before you doesn’t turn the handheld off, and it’s angled towards the shower curtain, either you or the bathroom floor will receive a good spray. ... show more
