It's that time of year where the weather is getting cooler, so what better to have on your balcony than an outdoor heater? This was a quick assembly with a Phillips head screwdriver (not included), but be careful, since they do not include any spare screws. You pretty much just attach the base, handle, and protective guard, then you're done. The remote is a nice addition, and it comes with a battery, so it's ready to go straight out of the box. It has several heat settings, but be warned, it does take 30 seconds to turn off, so if you need to turn it off immediately just unplug it. Also be sure to take the foam inserts out of the grille; as they're hard to see being dark colored, and I suggest they fix that. It does say IPX5 waterproof, but they put a warning to keep it away from rain, so I guess it's more water resistant than waterproof. I wouldn't put it in the rain anyways, but it's nice to know that if a light drizzle blows on it you'll be safe until you can place it inside. As far as the heat performance, it does nice on our small apartment balcony, but if it's windy you may not feel the heat much, so I suggest sitting it as close as safely can in that instance. Overall the value and quality you get for the price is pretty good, so I'll toss it 5 stars on this rating.

I'm not sure how they get so much heat out of something that doesn't trip a breaker. I have a woodshop/ machine shop in the basement. The only heat we have down there is the little bit of radiant heat the actual house heater puts into the room, along with all the warm ducts feeding the hot air to the house above. Therefore, in the dead of winter it can get down into the 50's in my shop. Too cold to comfortably work, and definitely too cold for painting or finishing. When I work down in the shop, the first thing I do is turn on a couple of heaters in various places to eventually warm the shop. I acquired this one to try out. I was blown away by how much radiant heat it puts out so quickly. I know it's designed for outdoors on a patio for example. however, it really shines down in that shop. It produces more heat more quickly than every other heater down there, and takes the edge off the 25 x 30ft cold room in less than 15 minutes. I'm planning on getting rid of the other two heaters and replace them with two more of these. Based on the performance of this one, I think my shop will get much warmer much quicker. Great product, I hope it lasts a long time. I have to give this on five full stars.

This does require some assembly to attach the base, handle and safety guard. There are 14 screws and you will need to supply a Philips screwdriver to put it together. Once assembled, there are two foam inserts (pic 2) that must be removed. Pic 4 is the control panel. Can you see the controls? No, not the remote in its holder. The top surface has 5 touch icons which you can not see until the unit is turned on. The on/off icon is one of those. It would have been better for the icons to be printed on the surface. I could not get my remote to work even though there was a QC sticker on it. I checked the battery voltage and the orientation of the battery to make sure that was not the problem. This is a nice looking heater, but it is basically a hair blow dryer without the blow in terms of heat output. This is not so much a limitation of the heater as it a limitation of 120V/60Hz 20A USA circuits. It is a radiant heater and does not actively blow the heated air out into the room. I tested this outside and unless I was standing directly in front within 5 feet, I did not feel much. I think this unit would do well inside a small room preferably with a ceiling fan to circulate the air. Heating element is protected by a metal grill. That metal grill will get hot and pose a safety issue. I do like that there is a safety switch which shuts the heater off if it is picked up or tipped over. Another nice feature is the heat is coming from a larger area than most other heaters. I plan to use mine on cooler days in my outdoor kitchen.

I love a radiant heater to warm up beside. It’s the same warm feeling you get from a fireplace or bonfire. Radiant heaters are ideal for use in un-conditioned spaces like garages or even patios or in the open air because it provides a zone of warmth without the need to heat up the air. I’ve owned several over the years but this one stands out. I really like the vertical design. It takes up very little floor space and it tends to warm you over a larger area of your body. This heater has a sleek, all metal body with only a plastic bezel over the base that it attaches to. It comes with a very convenient remote that allows you to adjust all the functions remotely. The heater gets hot very quickly. There is no long wait for the heat to start. One heater I had in the past had a metallic hum when it was turned on. There is almost no sound with this one. There is a very low fan sound that cools internal components but aside from that it makes no noise. I’ll keep this one in my office for when I come in from the cold. It’s much better to warm up beside this than jiggling the thermostat because you are cold.

I've used smaller space heaters for my home & office & enjoyed those much better than this larger VAGKRI Heater for Outdoor. First off, I'm disappointed that this space heater doesn't rotate like most others do. If I used this in my garage during the winter, I'd constantly have to maneuver it to evenly heat the space. The remote that comes with it isn't anything special either, especially when you consider that you'll be going to the unit constantly to adjust its direction -- so you might as well use the control buttons at the top. The heat output is decent, but this device does less than smaller units I have elsewhere.
