In order to install this cord on a Kenmore Progressive uipright vacuum, you have to remove the front of the unit. There are 12 screws that hold the front. I couldn't find a YouTube video before starting, and I ended up doing a lot more work than necessary before I found out what really holds it in place. Other than that, it is pretty straightforward. For a Kenmore upright, lay the unit flat out on it's back, open the door and remove the bag. The are 6 screws in the bag compartment, 2 above the door, and 4 on the floor unit. The are all identical. Take them all out and the front of the unit will separate. Replace the cord and reassemble. I used soldier, wirenuts and electrical tape to make sure I had a good, safe connection. White to white and black to black. Test that it works before reassembling.

Needed a replacement cord on my Bissell vac because was frayed and started to spark (yeah I know, shame on me.) replaced it, worked amazing and it’s 10ft longer than the original cord the vac came with.

It appears the wire was stored somewhere for a long time because I cannot get the kinks out.
