The steam mop is NOT a gimmick. Gave as an early xmas gift to an elderly individual and the person couldn't be more pleased. And this is a hard person to convince. She uses it on the floors, the rugs, the bathroom, stove, you name it. It is a larger house and she has no issues getting around with it. The amount of dirt it picked up on the linoleum floors was ridiculous and it is much easier on the back then lugging a wet mop around. It is super easy to use, just make sure you only use distilled water and DONT put cleaners/chemicals in the machine. If you want to use cleaners then use a spray bottle with the mixture and spray on the area you want to clean BEFORE you use the steam mop. Plus Vacmaster is a brand you see at Home Depot and the unit doesn't feel light or cheap at all. Steam heats up in about 20 seconds and it is ready to go. My advice is to move a little slower when cleaning, it is not a vacuum cleaner. The removable mop heads clean up after just 5 minutes soaking in a bucket of water with detergent. You may not even need to throw them in the washing machine after every use. This will even work on cleaning automotive engine bays in about 10 minutes. Product works as advertised. We have used it on our vynl floors and it was great. Reusable, washable pads work well. We have dogs so lots of paw prints by the doggy door all the time. This got them right up made the floor look brand new.

Cumbersome, heavy, and clumsy design. Did the job, but it doesn't work so smoothly that I will be apt to pull it out until nothing but a steam machine will work. Came with a million pieces that don't fit anywhere so you have to figure out how to store them someplace accessible every time you plan to use it. The hand-held piece is super heavy (the water tank is in it) so the other designs that have a tube feeding the steam to the hand-held piece are far less tiring. Would not buy again. Purchased this, and it's an older house. I have mopped with bleach, and all kinds of cleaners. Still looked dingy. But today, this floor steamer all the ground in dirt came off. I was done in about 20 minutes. Very lightweight and very easy on my back!

I’m in love to mop with the vacmaster, filling the tank goes a long way, I like the fact that you can adjust the steam. The only thing I would like it to have is a bigger round attachment so I can clean the bathroom faster, that’s the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
