This Vacmaster Professional Beast Series 14 Gal. 6.5 peak HP stainless steel tank wet/dry vac is a powerful high-performance vac designed to tackle the toughest cleanup projects the jobsite, around the shop, or in the garage. On- board hose, accessory, and power cord storage eliminates unneeded hassle and minimizes total storage space. A unique Flat power head design allows you to conveniently store tools on top of the vacuum so they are easily accessible when needed. I love the fact that this vac has a Hepa filter. It maneuvers quite well - it is bulky. I love the long hose and power cord. It has excellent suction and is surprisingly less loud than I expected. I appreciate that there are 2 different filter bags available - one for finer dust like saw dust. I like that the wand has locking pieces making it quite long. The things I am not as happy about are: the flexible hose is heavy and it is a struggle to keep it attached to the rigid wands. The locking tabs on the rigid wands are stiff making it difficult to lock and unlock - hopefully they will loosen with use. There are places for the locking wand sections to store on the vac base but they do not work well. There is no built in storage for the hose - I will buy a hose band to somehow attach it to the hook for the power cord storage. There is no on-board storage for the attachments - I will buy a nylon bag to use. I understand this vac is meant for industrial use so these issues may not apply in that application. OVERALL it is an excellent vac and I would highly recommend it. ... show more

Love this vacuum so far. It is the quietest with the most suction our of the ones I've gotten for under $150. Nothing can compare with my Festool one, but that is from an entire different world and price range. It is what drywallers use to have no dust anywhere. This vacuum I got to use with my hand sander and clean up in the shop/house. The stick vacs and "normal" vacs just weren't working "right". I killed too many. After an hour of use, I'm happy with it. The tools and hose are a lot better than competitor's at this price point too. I'm considering getting a second for a family member. Now...we'll see how long the filter and the vacuum last. I do use it everyday, with a bag, to extend the filter life. However, the longest I've had a vacuum last is about 2 years and that one came used from an estate sale. ... show more

This was a bargain HEPA vacuum. Great suction power, the filter cage is a bit too large so I wouldn't classify it as a true 8 gallons. I find the tools functional but the attachments should for at each stage, whether on the hose end, or at the end of the suction pipe. Example: the crevasse tool only fits the hose end, not the end of the fixed pipe. The tool storage is terrible. It would benefit from a caddy that was tall enough to hold all the tools. The hose is super robust. Cleaning it is easy but messy. The fleece pre filter does get caked with dust, and in my opinion, it's too long. The cord length is great, and the motor power is also great. It's moderately noisy, not as bad as a cheapo Shopvac but not a Festool or Fein level of quiet. The instructions booklet is good and well laid out, but assumes you know where tools are stored, or how the hose is stored. The vacuum feels solid, well built, the latch handles are easy to manipulate. I'd use it more if the tools were more functional. Right now, the vacuum is in one place and the tools are in another. UPDATE: 3/25/22- I'm raising the rating to 3, not because the new filter fit (it did not) but due to the great service I have received from this company. I call, and they respond. Unfortunately, despite myself and them verifying which filter should be in this cleaner, the sent out the same thing that I already had. So I looked at it, took more measurements, and decided that by carefully cutting the thick gasket down, the HEPA filter will still seal and also provide height reduction to allow the stud to catch the retaining bolt, thus drawing it snug. It worked! Keep in mind though, a HEPA filter install requires that the cage be removed and the bolt taped into place, otherwise you will need to hold the heavy motor over your head to keep it all in place and be able to see what you're doing. That's it, a good cleaner with a frustrating HEPA filter but worth a hundred bucks. UPDATE: 3/19/22- The new cage arrived, however, once assembled, the HEPA filter simply does not fit it! The stud which is supposed to mount between the bottom, inside of the cage, up into the bottom of the filter via a small hole. I screwed with this thing for an hour attempting to make sense of the sketchy instructions which resemble a stick man diagram. You must somehow retain this plastic screw while sliding the filter over the cage, up through the bottom hole and finally securing with a large nut. Since there is nothing to hold the plastic screw into position (it will fall into the bottom of the housing) I used a small piece of duct tape. That worked fine, however, the bolt is too short, or is it? Upon checking the parts list, I found that the filter included with the cleaner is WRONG! See the parts list/top of filter picture. Now I know how the bottom was broken from the cage! Someone, probably first customer this thing was sent out to, tried to force the filter, cage and nut to work and it pulled the bottom completely out of the cage. The filter is approximately 1/2" too tall so the stud cannot penetrate up through the bottom of the filter to allow the retaining nut to be installed. I shall attempt to contact the seller one more time to see whether they respond with the correct filter. The cage came quickly as I have a job I need to complete with this HEPA vacuum and had informed them of same. If they get the correct part to me quickly, I shall also update this review quickly. The cleaner is quite heavy, which to me, is not a bad trait. Most of the attachments appear to be reasonably well made (for a shop vac). Mine, unfortunately, was packed at the factor with a damaged filter cage (see pictures). There is no way that this damage could have occurred during transit, as the heavy box was in perfect shape. Shame on the employee whom broke this part and sent it out "as is". Another feature I really like is the extra long suction hose which is far more flexible than any shop vacuum I've used. Additionally, the large rear wheels and front casters work very well together (I dragged it around the room by the hose :-) Unlike some reviews I've read, the tank latches seem quite stout. I spent ten minutes on the phone with the factory outlet and was assured, they have the part in stock and will ship out first thing in the morning. If they do so, I'll raise my review to a FIVE. If not, It'll be a ONE. I'm moving on to another job 1200 miles away and need this thing running prior to leaving. Good luck! ... show more

I love the form factor of this one. It has the makings of a great little vacuum but some bad design choices are probably going to keep it on the bench for me. The exhaust port is a grill and points toward the front of the machine. Hard to vacuum up dust when the machine is blowing it around.. Kind of a fatal flaw. The 4.5hp motor has decent suction given the size of the vacuum but I'd rather have seen the 5.5hp like on the beast vacuum. The filter is really large on this one and takes up quite a bit of real estate in the tank. They nailed the hose storage as usual and the hose itself is quality. A single blower port on the back of the machine with a muffler, bigger motor and smaller filter would have made this a contender to replace my 5gal beast. For the money though better off with the beast. ... show more
