update 6 december 2022. after a few months i notice that it does actually slide around a bit more than is ideal, but tbh my old one slid around about as much and it had spikes, so i'm not sure it's a product issue as much as it is a thick carpet issue. the surface has become a bit scuffed in heavy use areas, but it's impossible to see unless i look at that one angle where the light hits it just so. my carpet pattern is kinda noisy though, so it might be more visible on a darker, more solid surface like hardwood. i'm not crazy about the scuff marks, but due to the feel and finish of the material i think they're within my expectations. the mat has not dented one bit; aside from the invisible scuffs, it is completely undamaged and remains a solid and sturdy plastic board. i can sometimes hear the carpet compress underneath it and it makes a funny sound but it doesn't have any noticable give. i am not crazy about the price tag, but at the same time trying to find one of these that works is such a frustrating process and i'm glad it's over. i'd gladly pay $69.99 (looks like it's gone up a few bucks...) again if i needed to, but i'm confident i won't unless i intentionally try to snap this thing in half. hope your experience is as good as mine! - purchased 3 october 2022 - SHIPS FLAT - no studs/spikes on the bottom - works on 1/2" pile carpet - very clear, very sturdy, not too slippery shopping for these things is the worst. the reviews are all bad for all of them. i bought two from kuyal and they were awful to unroll. i cut myself on the dumb fking spikes so many times. both "thick carpet mats" were soft enough that my chair was getting stuck in divots. me + the chair are ~200lb. this mat is made of very clear and sturdy plastic. the edges are a little sharp, but it sinks into the 1/2" carpet enough that i don't expect it to be a problem. if it does, i have a sander. at first i was worried that it didn't have any studs or spikes, but somehow that's not an issue. i really can't move it intentionally while i'm sitting, even if i try to use the wall as leverage. don't forget to peel the film off both sides -- very satisfying. the surface provides a pleasant amount of resistance to my chair moving around without being at all slippery. stepping on it with bare feet, it kinda feels like glass with a tiny amount of give. after spending a total of probably six hours trying to find a stupid plastic mat for my chair i am relieved to be done. this was a little expensive but worth it just to be finished. i literally just unboxed it; these are my initial impressions. i'll update my review if it cracks. ... show more

I live in an apartment and have standard apartment grade carpet. This mat does not have teeth to sink into the carpet like you see in many chair mats but it absolutely does not slide unless I specifically push it with my foot. I saw reviews before purchasing where people said it slid on their carpet and honestly I have no idea what they could be doing differently because this is the best chair mat I ever used. It looks good, unlike those cheap ones, it's very thick and feels sturdy. Most importantly it ships flat so you don't have to worry about curled up edges right out of the box. This carpet protector appears to be much better than any others i've used in the past. Delivery & Pkg: Amazon delivered on time and the package was undamaged. Unpacking was easy and no instructions necessary for this item Product: as described. I like the thickness of this. I'm using on a 'normal' thickness of home carpet and padding. It does not sag or bend when the chair is in place and i use it. Unlike others that make indents for the beginning this appears that it will hold up much better. Easy to move around. This product is clear to carpet and does not have anything underneath to 'hold in place (i.e. plastic prongs)". At this point that is not an issue and it is not moving around. The only improvement i'd make on this product is to have more a beveled edge so as not to catch a toe but this is a minor tweak to the product. I'd recommend this product ... show more

You. get what you pay for!!!!!!!!!! This plastic material is very very durable. FITS on my high quality 3/4 inch Kerostan carpet-- as good as it gets !! I had a glass Matt before--that Matt broke into a million ++ pieces when I dropped a moderately heavy wrench. on it when adjusting the desk bolts. This Matt clearly will last well over. 10 years ! In an work at home environment that is used daily. Heres what you get when you buy this --no more. every 3 years Matt replacement@@@!! Every 3 years. you.will be replacing with all kinds of roll out.plastic Matts. !! Like that??? $$$$ out of your wallet$$$$ I picked this up @ a UPS terminal put it in my 4 door Honda sedan back seat easily!! You can to if needed!! Cleaning -both Fantastic and mild soap with water do not leave streaks. Fantastic took off a black grease streak from UPS truck floors, mild soap and water worked great for the trial cleaning. This is 1/5 inch thick -when your office chair goes OFF. this Matt into carpet -its so easy to regain entry onto this Matt. Easy off --easy on!! Does NOT dent or scratch ..yeah --Wing Nut here dropped a large battery charger on this 2 hours after installing this -- no dent or scratch!!! Surprised!! VERY tough plastic.VERY!! I purchase a few of these over the past 2 years - always when i see a reduced price. If you have ever owned a "cheaper" floor, you've likely encountered the challenges related to flattening them. This is a non-issue. These floors are very thick/solid! You will be gliding over your floor with ease. I have also dropped some heavy items on these by accident and they took the beating without a scratch. If you want a floor that's going to last you many years these are the ones to buy! ... show more
