I purchased this chair mat to replace one previously purchased at an office supply store. The mat is not very thick and as such the chair does not roll easily when the mat is placed on carpet, compared to my last floor mat. Maybe its the pile of my carpet or maybe its just my fat ass, or maybe I just misunderstood when purchasing. The fact is, the wheels of my chair sink into the mat and thus into the carpet creating ruts that don't allow the chair to roll even the slightest. Even after standing the indents last longer than the time I was sitting. I guess it does protect the carpet from high traffic damage but I guess I'll have to see how matted it is in that section after the mat is down for a while. It's a kinda weird thick plastic and was super difficult to unroll. I actually worked up a sweat. Its not great, but it'll do for what I need it for I guess.

This item stated it was good for carpet. Though after sitting in my home office chair for 5-10 minutes the casters sink into the matt & I can't roll around. I thought it would be thicker and not have any issue with rolling around with this matt on top of carpeting
