My son loves these metal detectors. He loves being able to walk around and look for things in the ground. We just moved to a new house and I know he’s excited to use this. Overall, I like the design. It seems straightforward and easy to use. I think this one is meant more for adults, but I’m gonna let him use it anyway because he’s fun. I bought this with the sole purpose of finding a property survey post that had been overgrown for years. I used the “land glide” app to get me in the right area and this metal detector from there. Successfully found it buried about 3” with the pink ribbon still on it in a matter of minutes! This was much more affordable than paying for a new survey. I did play with a few coins on my floor and saw that they were individually identified on the display with the correct values, which was cool. I haven’t went looking for “lost” items (outside of my survey post) so can’t speak to the ease of that. We’ll deserved 5 stars given the cost and my intent of use. ... show more

I am new to metal detecting and was a bit intimidated when my wife surprised me with this detector. The supplied directions are easy to follow, and unit assembles very easily and comes in a very nice carrier. It includes a digging shovel that works well. I found the accuracy to be quite good, finding several coins, and of course other things like nails and wire since I was at a part of my daughter's land that used to be agricultural. I will be traveling up to the Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia and then on to the coast of Maine where I plan to do much more exploring with this unit! I revised my review from a 5 to 1. I tried contacting the company two times and received zero response. Customer service is VERY important to me! This is very embarrassing for me, I seemed to have misplaced their email responses. They did contact me, and are actually very, very, responsive. I am revising back to 5 stars and want to sincerely apologize for my mistake! ... show more

The compression fitting that connects the display and foot to the handle is very poor. This connects to the handle. This does not support the weight of the display and foot at this connection. I could pull out the shaft without the display or foot mounted. This should be a fixed connection. I considered drilling a hole and installing a bolt. ... show more

For a product currently rated 4.6 stars, I was expecting much better. On the plus side, it comes with a nice folding shovel, headphones, and a strong bag. I also found the user interface simple to use and easy to discriminate or notch certain metals. The issues on my unit were: 1. The plastic is not manufactured with acceptable tolerances to allow the clamp near the display to stay connected to the metal rods when assembling. So the only thing holding the entire unit together is the tiny set screw for the display. 2. The bag is about 2 inches too short to fit the entire unit in it when it is in its most collapsed form. Since it does not fit, one needs to remove the display set screw and end up with several pieces loose in the huge bag which is now about 2x too long and overall much larger than it needs to be. Unnecessary hassle to keep assembling and disassembling. 3. The volume adjustment on the lowest setting is still way too loud. 4. Pinpoint mode is flakey. A couple times I had it work as expected on a test object where it gets louder or silent when moved closer or further from the object. Most times, however, it sounds when it first detects and then stays in the super loud siren mode forever even if moved far away from any metal. Was hoping to at least find a buried bottle cap or rusty nail but was unsuccessful. Only found objects on surface using eyes rather than detector. ... show more
