I watched a lot of informational videos and read a lot of reviews about metal detectors before I settled on this particular Garrett ACE 400. I am still learning "how" to use it but so far I am impressed. One feature I really like is that I can put an item under the coil and have that particular metal comp remembered and then look for that. In this case a particular type of small cannon ball that the French may have used in New Orleans. Found 2 on the property that should not have been there. May change a piece of the Battle of NO history if more are found to help prove that there was a skirmish in a local in NO not believed to have happened. This Garrett unit is perfect and easy to learn and then great to USE! VERY happy! ... show more

I know absolutely nothing about metal detectors. I bought this for my girlfriend and she was ecstatic to get it. She had been wanting one for years and this seemed to be a good package deal.
