  • Don’t buy, waste of money, go with a different brand!
This worked ok for about 5 months, yes it is fairly quiet and much easier than scooping by hand daily but when it dumps the used litter it piles up so with 2 cats after about 3 days you have to change the bag or shake it so the waste sits evenly in the bin. The app doesn’t do much and when using it, the commands often pause and stop responding. After using it for 5 months it has completely stopped working. The drum won’t rotate even after cleaning, the app won’t respond to a reset and the seller is not responding either. For the price I would not recommend as it is now just a waste of money. ... show more

  • Works as advertised with the correct litter Works as advertised with the correct litter
WOW! After researching all the self cleaning automatic litter boxes, I finally found one that meets all my needs, and my cats too. We previously used wood pellets with the Breeze system, and with four cats I had to empty it four times a day because the urine would smell and be awful. It was frustrating, but at least it didn’t track everywhere, which was still better than having sand all over the hard floors and stuck to everyones feet that walks by. My goal was to find a pellet that clumps to hold the urine odor, and then find an automatic litter box that could sift through those pellets. It took me days to find the right clumping pellet, and then many more days to find a machine that could handle it. These machines are far too expensive for trial and error, so I had to be sure before buying. With a little common sense and a lot of research, I finally solved all my problems with this auto self-cleaning box and the litter I chose (see my photos). It works great! No more smell, no more tracking, and no more scooping every day. Everything falls into the large bottom tray. We’re on day three now with absolutely no odor. The tray is starting to fill up, so I’m curious to see how many days we can go before emptying it. With four cats, I’m guessing around five days, which is still great. I do want to point out that this machine is designed for larger litter, as stated in the listing. So when people say the rake doesn’t reach the bottom, that’s because it isn’t supposed to—the rake doesn’t need to touch the base when using larger pellets. Also, keep in mind that most clumping litters can stick to the bottom if the clump is still too wet. Once it dries, it usually comes loose and falls on its own. For that reason, setting the box to clean on a longer delay can help the dried pee clumps fall into the waste bin instead of sticking. I’ve also read that some people use non-stick spray (like cooking spray) or sprinkle baking soda on the bottom to help prevent sticking, though I haven’t tried those yet. And finally, make sure you use enough litter so the urine has plenty of pellets to absorb into before it reaches the bottom. My other piece of advice is to keep the machine on manual mode while your cats are getting used to the new system. You don’t want them getting spooked by the box cleaning itself. 3 our of my 4 cats needed about a day to decide whether they could trust it. When I turned it on the first time, they were startled, and even when they just peeked inside, the motion sensor would activate the cleaning cycle after 5 minutes of them just investigating it. Three out of four are comfortable with it now, but it definitely took some time. I should’ve kept it on manual from the beginning until they were all fully adjusted. Our youngest, who’s five months old, is still a bit skeptical, but I’m sure he’ll come around once he sees the others using it confidently. The app offers both auto and manual controls. In manual mode, the box won’t clean until you press the button—either in the app or on the unit itself. In auto mode, you can set how many minutes you want it to wait before starting a cleaning cycle, which is really convenient. For now, I’m keeping it in manual mode until all the cats are completely comfortable, but I plan to switch it to auto in a few days once the younger one adjusts. Also, the step stool really isn’t helping at all. My cats just jump right over it, they don’t want to use it. I think the grid pattern on it might scare them and it is not a solid step stool, it keeps falling apart because the lid isn’t secured. When they jump out, if they land on the edge, the whole thing flips over and the lid comes off, so it’s pretty much useless and just scares them more. The stool was a good idea in theory but not this one do they like, but my cats don’t like the step stool at all, so for now it’s just pushed off to the side. Oh, and for anyone wondering whether this will work with wood pellets that don’t contain any clumping ingredients, the answer is yes… and maybe no. The machine can sift through the bigger wood pellets just fine—they’re about the same size as the clumping pellets I’m using now (see my photos). However, since urine simply runs through regular wood pellets without clumping, that could create issues and definitely needs more testing. I did try mixing the two types of pellets to save money, and it can work depending on the ratio, but more experimenting is needed to find the best balance for cost and performance. I also read that adding corn starch to the regular non clumping wood pellets may work but i have not experimented with this yet. it may work or just make a mess. don't know until i try it. For now I am using a clumping wood pellet until i experiment to save money. At least it's working for now but it's going to cost more in the long run using a specialized clumping pellet. So far really happy with with the machine and the clumping pellet I am using with it. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Has some quirks and I am still figuring out if I like it
When I first got the box, I knew getting my cats to use the box I was going to be an uphill battle, because I have 2 15.5-year-old cats that are 9 and 12 lbs. I knew older cats don't like change. Plus, the litter area is smaller than they are used to having. Nevertheless, I set it up and it mostly went fine but I did find the tray very hard to insert and remove especially with the bag installed. I fixed that problem by adding beeswax to the runners on the bottom of the box. I also had a problem with the box getting stuck during its first clean cycle, but I realized that it was too close to a wall, so I just pulled it out from the wall. It hasn't had that problem since then. After 2 weeks, my cats are only using the box around 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time they are going on the puppy wee pads I setup in the areas they mess in because I forget/unable to clean their box after ever use. I also found out that that it occasionally doesn't detect a cat even though the cat has used the box leaving it dirty. I know this because I can see a mess in the box, but the usage was never logged in the software resulting in the box never going into cleaning mode. This problem is especially annoying since I bought the box because my cats are very fussy about having a clean litter box. However, if I reset the box, it starts detecting the cats again. To avoid this problem, I am doing a morning routine of: 1. Pushing the clean button 2. Checking the litter tray and emptying if needed 3. Add more litter, usually just a little bit 4. Resetting the box using the software on my phone. (I find using the phone to reset the box really annoying instead of there just being a button on the box.) So far, this routine has solved the problem of detection, but the cats are still not using the box consistently. As for cleaning effectiveness, it usually does an okay job of removing the #1 messes but occasionally it does stick. I have just set the cleaning delay to 10 minutes so hopefully that will work. Unfortunately, since my cats are larger their #2s don't completely land in the litter so I have still have to scoop the leftovers on the side of the box after a cleaning cycle. As for quality of the box's construction, I haven't had a problem with anything breaking and the box seems strong enough to support the weight of my cats without wobbling. I conclusion, I find myself still checking the box as much if not even more than before I got the box. Therefore, I cannot recommend this box based on my experience, but I can imagine that this would be a good product for someone with younger smaller cats. ... show more

  • Quiet, Clean, and Reasonably Priced
Love it! I splurged on a Litter Robot and had instant buyers remorse. Every cycle was loud enough to hear across the whole house. I had to set it not to cycle at night so it wouldn’t wake us up. This litter box does not have that issue. Very quiet. The robot was also constantly having one error or another and stopping mid cycle. This one will stop in a way that blocks the access when it is time to replace the collection bag. Once the bag is changed, it rights itself and the cats can use it again. I have to clean mine every 3-4 days, with 5 cats using it. Anyone with fewer cats may not have to replace the bag more than once every couple weeks. My smallest cat is about 4 pounds, and it recognizes her weight just fine. If any cat puts their 2 front paws up on the box while it cycles, it will immediately stop moving until they stop touching it. So I’m pretty confident it won’t cycle while a kitten or cat is using it. Overall, a great self-cleaning box, especially for the price. About 1/3 the cost of the fancy robot that is taking up space in my garage. Just replace the bag when it stops cycling and then forget about it. ... show more

  • Do not buy.
It worked perfect at first but very soon after, about 4 months, it does not empty, it stops half way and does not self clean. There is a sensor issue. It thinks my cat is inside so it refuses to clean. I reached out to the seller, no response. Do not purchase.

Breaks down constantly. I’ve had this less than a year and it’s broken down numerous times that I had to move it to manual usage. Now the gear broken and is no longer usable at all.

  • Not great
The assembly right out of the box was not hard, however, getting the machine to work properly was another story. It took me a while to figure out that it would not be supported by 5G. Because I’m not the most tech savvy person it took me a few searches to figure out how to get my Wi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz Instead of 5G. Once I got that figured out, all three lights on the buttons were blinking continually and I couldn’t figure out why. It turns out that the litter pan underneath the unit needs to be pushed as hard as possible to register with the machine that it is in the correct position. Now, in regards to the functionality of this machine, it has worked great thus far. Having said that, only one out of my three cats will use it. The one that uses it is the smallest cat at only 8 pounds. I believe the reason the others don’t want to use it is because they are much larger cats, 11 and 12 pounds. The potty area that the cats have available to go in is very small. The sifter bar reaches a quarter of the way onto the surface of the litter, making the space even smaller that they have to go on. Additionally, the waste falls in the exact same spot in the back of the waste bin, causing the waste to build up in one area and the other side of the waste bin to be empty. The drawstring bags are large around, but shallow, to fit the specific waste bin. They are rather pricey, and do not pull tightly without the drawstrings breaking. Because they can’t be pulled tightly, it leaves quite a large hole at the top for the smell to leak out of once they are tied. I usually throw this bag into another garbage bag to reduce the smell, which makes it even less affordable because you are using two bags instead of one. If all three of my cats used this machine, I think I would have to empty it at least once a day, which is not affordable. I actually have an open box next to this one and scoop it every day. I wish I hadn’t spent the money on this because I have to scoop every day anyways. I had another automatic box that the cats loved, was much bigger and I only had to change it every 3 to 4 days because it could hold so much. The app on the first one was so much better. It told you exactly what cat was in the bin and for how long. It weighed them every time they went in. It also told you how full the waste bin was, and when to change it. This one is not specific to each cat and just tells you if a cat has entered. The only reason I replaced the old box is because it was not a good design to clean. It only had a small hole in the front and didn’t open fully for your arm to get in and clean. The whole box rolled around, making the poop tumble around inside getting around the whole inside of the box. Eventually, it started smelling, and it was very hard to clean. This one is so much easier to clean, functions well, but really doesn’t work for my three cats. Maybe if someone had one small cat it would work well for them? In my opinion, this is way too pricey for what you get. ... show more
