Been using this grill for a year and am impressed with its performance. Stainless grate, burner, burner box and drip pan. Easy to use and maintains temperature well. I had a fault where everything went dead. Talked to customer and tech services and they helped me identify a blown fuse. Easy fix. My only complaint is the cheap grill cover I also bought from them.     • Excellent temperature control when it works... Poor tech support.
Update 2 weeks in: I did contact the company to try to get this fixed, rather than return it. Unfortunately first level tech support had never heard of the product and had no information about the model in their files. Second level tech support went straight to voicemail, and messages were never returned. I guess this is the problem with new product lines. Regardless, it makes me question the value of a 5-year warranty if you can't get support or replacement parts. Maybe things will change as time goes on, but for the moment, I can't recommend this product due to the issues I encountered and the lack of support. Update 1 week in: It failed! It's started tripping my GFCI; it will no longer maintain a constant temperature; and comes up with error codes on the display. I replaced the GFCI thinking it was defective, but that didn't change anything; it's reached the point where it will trip every minute or so. I don't relish the idea of having to replace control panels, motors or blowers (or whatever's causing the problem), so will return to Amazon. Maybe I just got a bad one, but this is a first generation product, and maybe there's simply an inherent flaw? It's a shame, as it worked really well for the first week... Original review: Very impressed so far. The unit is well built and sturdy; wheels make it easy to maneuver. The temperature control is outstanding: a 6-hour smoke at 225F varied between 225F and 228F; a 3-hour smoke at 180F varied between 180F and 182F. Way better than my old smoker which used to have swings of +/-40F. Not sure how they achieved this level of control, but it’s amazing for the price. The internal thermometer readout agrees with my calibrated thermometer, so I’m comfortable using it. Most importantly, it produces a good amount of smoke and the food tasted great, which is all that matters at the end of the day. A couple of negatives: I wish there was an easier way to remove ash at the end of a smoke other than removing everything and using a shop vac, but it only takes a few minutes and forces you to clean everything in the process! Also, the flame plate arrived bent and won’t sit flat in the grill. Although it doesn’t seem to have any negative impact, there are warnings in the manual about not using it if it’s not level, so I might contact customer service to see about getting a replacement. Overall it was a bit of a risk buying given the limited number of reviews (for those wondering, USSC has been around a long time, but seems to have only started making pellet smokers this year, so there’s not much info out there); however, I’m very pleased with the purchase. The 5-year warranty provides reassurance should anything go wrong. For anyone looking for a sturdy pellet grill with excellent temperature control and wants to avoid poor quality models, I’d totally recommend this one. It's well worth the money. ... show more

Very sturdy materials. I can fit 2-3 racks of ribs on this little guy. Puts a great smoke on them. Would highly recommend. Mine arrived slightly damaged, with the hopper bent slightly away from the main box. Leaks a little smoke, but otherwise functions great!

This grill is working just as advertised and has performed as expected. The controls are easy to use Temp control is very good and temperatures recovery after opening the lid is quick. I have grilled food items from hamburger, hotdog, staked and roast with great success.

    • Will not maintain temperature
Will be returning this grill. Unit fails to maintain temperature below 260 degrees which defeats the entire purpose of a pellet grill/smoker.
