  • Good Air Pump
Style: 10-100 Gallons
This has been a good air pump. Been using it for a couple years now and it is still running good. The noise isn't bad. I use it in the garage when I am making compost/worm tea. It has a knob to adjust the air flow.

  • Strong and silent
Style: 10-100 Gallons
I've been using this for a week on my 20 gallon long tank and so far its working well. I've had no issues with anything slipping off or not going on properly and having control over the flow is great. It's got a sleek black look and this thing is so silent I have to see the bubbles or feel it to know it's running. As with anything that vibrates it's going to be a bit dependent on what type of surface you have it sitting on. I ordered a second one for my other tank. ... show more

  • Pump great! Accessories poo!
Style: 10-100 Gallons
The pump works great and is very quiet at full power. If you plan on using the check valves and air stones good luck! In the first pic you see I used pvc glue because the air was leaking out the connector and not coming through the stones. It still didn't work . Second pic the check valves were leaking air at the seam of the casing. The pvc glue did work on those. The plastic used for the fittings crumbles when you touch it. It's very brittle. I tried to contact the seller through Amazon and there was no option only a full return. I would just like the air stones and the check valves replaced but oh well! ... show more

  • So quiet!
Style: 10-100 Gallons
It was a little bigger than. I anticipated, but it works beautifully! And it's much quieter than my other one that was giving me constant headaches! I like that I am able to adjust the flow as well!

  • Quiet, if you treat it right
Style: 10-100 Gallons
It is adjustable and comes with air stones, back flow valves and connectors, which makes it the best deal at this price point. It is whisper quiet on low, and has a noticeable hum in a silent room when running on high. I'm running the filtration in my 15 gallon tank with this pump set on "medium" and it's nearly silent... much quieter than my previous powerhead. It also has vibration dampening (soft rubber), sound isolating (pointy) feet. Here's how to make it even *more* quiet: BUY MORE CAPACITY If you need quiet, I buy an adjustable pump at a twice the capacity you need, then turning it down to half capacity. The harder the pump has to work, the louder it will be. A bigger pump set to a low setting is actually quieter than a similar design small pump, pumping the same amount of air on "high". DOUBLE THE HOSE You can increase airflow on a lower setting buy doubling the hose; here's how. If you only need one hose, you can pair the outputs with the included "T" connector to double air flow while keeping it on medium power--an almost silent setup. Just make sure to use both back flow valves *between* the "T" and the output on each hose, rather than using only one after the junction. This is because each back flow valve is a choke-point (i.e. the smallest point through which the air must flow). Having two valves keeps resistance low which increases the total amount of air moving through your hose. The easier it is for your pump to push the amount of air that you need, the quieter your pump will be. COVER IT UP If you've followed my advice and bought an adjustable higher capacity pump, you shouldn't have any problems with it overheating if you wrap it in soundproofing material (i.e. a washcloth). Get as fancy as you want here; just make sure it's not getting hot. NO TOUCHY No "hard" part of this device should have contact with any other "hard" item... especially air stones on glass! If anything hard is pushing air and touches anything else hard--especially the tank glass--it will act just like a "woofer" in projecting vibration as sound. Try this experiment: dangle an active air stone in the water against the glass... now close to the glass... now in the middle of the tank. Notice how it quickly goes from LOUD to indistinguishable once it's more than an inch away from the glass? You can use this same experiment on other parts and objects within the tank to see if they carry sound. Any air attached to these objects should be carefully done with sound dampening material: like rubber or silicone suction cups. The more space, the better. ... show more

  • Super quiet
Style: 10-100 Gallons
I've had many brands of air pumps and this one is the quietest I've ever owned. I've had it running for two years now, no issues. I bought another for my second tank!

  • Makes noise after a few months
Style: 10-100 Gallons
Product was quiet at first. After 4/5 months of use it has now started making this creepy squeaky noise. I’m watching it to see how long it’ll last but it’s disappointing that it didn’t even last 6 months without an issue. At least it still works and is quiet majority of the time, but that squeak that it makes occasionally drives my husband and I nuts! It’ll distract you from your TV. ... show more
