It’s not always as quiet as promised. There is a wee container of oil (?), grease? But since there is no manufacturer diagrams, and no obvious place to put grease??? I consider myself pretty talented when it comes to working on things like this…BUT?? Manually, no noise….but when using it plugged in, there is often noise that makes it sound like it needs a grease job…

I am an ultramarathoner but sit all day for my job, and I am always looking for ways to fit in a bit of extra training. PLUS I have ADHD and get really squirrely if I sit for too long without moving. I previously had a cheap under-desk cycler but it was really awkward to use because motion was so clunky. This is a MAJOR upgrade. The motion is incredibly smooth, which means I can even use it while on a video call and people can't tell that I'm exercising. It's like being a duck—calm above the surface, going nuts underneath! Ha! A couple of things to know: There isn't really a way, from what I can tell, to make the resistance any stronger. The SPEED can change (either manually or automatically), but you can't hike up the resistance. I do wish you could! Also, at least for me, the foot straps are not at all intuitive. They feel way too short and there are no obvious ways to connect them other than to wrap them all the way around the steps, which doesn't work. I find it works find without the straps, so it's not a big deal. The display is very bright and easy to see from a seated position, which I appreciate. The remote is unexpectedly helpful; it's nice to not have to crawl under my desk to change anything! The modes/functions require a small learning curve. Note that there are clear warnings to NOT stand on this. I only use it while seated. As for the exercise quality, I find that this works my calves much more than the cycle, and I'd say it works my calves more than any other muscle group. Perhaps I just haven't found the right setting to engage other muscles? The elliptical motion is quite small, so that might be part of it (but the small motion also makes it fit under a desk easier because your knees aren't going way up like they would on a cycle). Overall, I'm impressed; for the cost, this is a high-quality machine. I can't speak to the durability yet, but so far, I'm happy!
