This is the first air fryer that I've owned, though I've seen and used them at friends' and family's before. The unit is about as large as I had expected, and it feels sturdily built. The smooth, rubberized exterior feels high-end, the the futuristic display is intuitive to use and understand. It's large but fairly lightweight for its size, and I put it away in a cabinet after each use. The machine offers presets for fish, chicken, fries, and others, but I prefer to use the manual time/temperature controls, which are almost as fast. The inner basket features an insert not unlike other units, and this insert is easy to clean with a soft brush and soapy water. It's spacious enough to accommodate several servings or a wide variety of air fryer cookware. Because the design on the outside is almost seamless, it's easy to wipe down and maintain, which I really like. The matte finish doesn't collect fingerprints or grease stains (but the display does, a bit). I find the cooking to be even and fast, and every recipe I've tried works pretty well here. I've reheated proteins like steak or fried chicken, which work well at 350° + 6 minutes, while frozen foods also cook up perfectly crispy. My favorite things to cook are veggies, like baby carrots or potatoes. This roasts veggies just done with great browning and texture. Truly great roast potatoes are usually an ordeal to cook evenly and crisply, but this makes it super simple. The air fryer will automatically pause and restart the cooking time if you take out the basket, which is awesome for flipping or tossing halfway through. Very convenient! The unit runs quiet overall, which is very nice. However, the unit does give a loud beep when it turns on and when menu items are pressed. This might be something to consider for late night snacks if you have sensitive housemates. I'm very satisfied with the quality and performance of the air fryer.

I am already an owner of the Ultrean 8.5 Quart Air Fryer, Electric Hot Air Fryers XL Oven and the Ultrean Air Fryer Toaster Oven Combo, 32 Quart Convection Oven Countertop with Rotisserie, Toaster, Dehydrator and Baking features. Out of the two just mentioned I'd have to state that our favorite has been the 8.5 Quart Air Fryer. However, now that this one has come along, I can see just how much Ultrean has listened to its customers by adding in some nice features that trump the features of the first two. The first two have no ability to pause the cooking. However, this one has a pause/resume display touch control (a familiar icon like you'd see on a music player). This allows you to pause the cooking cycle affording you the ability to adjust temperature and/or cooking time during your cooking cycle without stopping the cycle completely or removing the basket. I believe this to be a much-wanted feature that customers like me have been asking for and Ultrean has delivered with this unit! The display is nice and large and easy to read. It seems quite intuitive with less reliance on having the manual in hand to know how to operate it. The shape, design and contour of this unit seems more elegant and an enhancement, rather than a distraction, to your countertop space. While this doesn't have a detachable full basket like the 8.5 quart, it does have a nice removeable crisper plate that fits in the basket. It is secured with silicone tabs that grab the sides of the basket to prevent it from falling out when turning the basket over to empty contents (like fries, etc.). Contrary to the manual, I did two "burn-in" cycles: a 15 minute, followed by a second five minute -- both at 400F. I also did not use a lemon or lemon peel as the manual suggested. After the first of the two "burn-in" cycles there was a noticeable odor. However, in my opinion, it was not overpowering; less so on the second "burn-in" cycle. Possibly, if I'd have had the lemon, it might have helped minimize the odor. However, with a new appliance (esp. for cooking), I don't believe this is an extraordinary experience, but one I've come to expect. My experience cooking with this unit was outstanding. This unit performs well and seems to produce as good or better results than the other units I own. It browns evenly, and with the battered food I cooked, it left a nicely browned crunchy texture all the way around. Optionally, I did turn the food over after several minutes for a shorter duration cooking cycle just to add a bit more crunchiness and browning on all sides. However, after the first cycle I was pleased with the results I saw and likely would have been just as satisfied with the texture, taste and results had I bypassed the additional cycle. My one wish is that this came at least in an 8.5 quart size. We can cook up to four Cornish hens in the 8.5 quart, but from what I can tell by the size of the 7 quart basket, we might not be able to fit more than three Cornish hens at once in this. Nonetheless, it is adequately sized and large enough to serve well in cooking for a family. For a well-designed, excellent performing air fryer that won't overwhelm your countertop space with its size, I highly recommend the Ultrean Air Fryer, 7 Quart 6-in-1 Electric Hot XL Air Fryer Oven/Cooker.

Let me just start by saying how awesome this thing is. I use this pretty much to cook bacon in the morning, and as you can see, this fits entire strips of bacon without having them fold over at the ends. The huge display is super easy to use and when turned on it has the deep him and isn't loud or sound like a jet engine going off in my kitchen. I also love the flat Grey color as it blends perfectly into my blue backsplash. This is my second fryer from ultrean and they improved the basket drastically by using a new Teflon type coating and not the ceramic one that I had issues with on my last fryer. They also improved the design of the tray and basket, removing the gaps in the side of the basket that used to spill oil everywhere. Now the tub which is now just a solid piece, so cleaning up is easy without a mess. They literally fixed everything I disliked about their older air fryer on this model. Moving right along, lets discuss that last fryer I owned. So I did have issues with it, so I contacted ultrean, and they saw my pics and issues and responded literally within minutes to correct it. I had a replacement basket and tray sent out asap, no problem. I've never had customer service like this from a brand I never heard of on Amazon. You would expect a slow response if any at all from most of these random Amazon brands, but not these people. They knocked it out of the park. Oh and they also sent me a free digital food scale when I registered my product. Ummm thank you! So I usually don't give lengthy Amazon reviews, but this company absolutely rocks. Amazing product, Fantastic customer service and support. I am now a legit fanboy of ultrean and their products. I will make updates if by chance this thing fails, but even if it does I have confidence that ultrean will have my back.
