I purchased this item to replace another inexpensive skimmer that missed all the small particles. I was hesitant because of reports of durability issues. If I had a large pool, particularly if it was cement I would not use this skimmer as I do not believe it would hold up nor is the net large enough. However, it is quite sufficient for use in my hot tub. It's exactly what I was looking for. The mesh is tight enough to trap sand and tiny pieces of insects, the stuff my other skimmer completely missed. This item is made cheaply and may not hold up for large jobs but it's inexpensive, works great for what I need, and is a good value for the money. I would recommend this.

This is the third skimmer I have bought from this manufacturer. What I like is: the extremely fine mesh. It catches everything. It is a very sturdy skimmer (I have the short handle) What I like best is: that it isn't flat. It has corner seams to create a net shape. What I don't like is: The first one lasted most of the summer. The second one did not last half the summer. The seams come unraveled leaving 4-5" holes. I bought this skimmer net and head to replace my current hole riddle one, keeping the handle as it is perfectly functional. The head arrived and does not fit the handle- the head is for a larger diameter handle. I have a short handle and it is not the same diameter. I did not see this mentioned anywhere in the description. It is from the same company I bought the last skimmer from, and looks identical to mine so I am very disappointed. BUYER BEWARE head does not fit shorter handle.

Great item, only lasts about a year and then gets small holes in the netting. I have a screened lanai so only scooping pollen and dirt but once the holes develop I have to toss it.. Thankfully, they are not expensive to replace.

It was smaller than expected. My fault I didn't read dimensions closely. However, because it is small and all plastic it will not likely last long attached to my skimming pole. The pressure is already putting stress cracks in it less than a week old. The mesh is very fine though and picks up small debris. This would be perfect for a spa where you could just hand hold the skimmer.
