The size, texture and multiple touch features of this puppy gift are perfect for my 85 year old sister. She feels comforted and relaxed with it. If she feels stressed she grabs it and shoves both hands inside and squeezes the ball mounted inside. It also keeps her hands warm.

My mother had Alzheimer's and macular degeneration, so she was nearly blind on top of being confused at age 89. I moved in with her in order to keep her in her home. She was not really ever a cat person, and as a former educator, she was more business-like than warm and fuzzy. But there was so little she could do. I bought this on a whim, thinking I was being a bit ridiculous and even though it was fairly expensive, decided to give this a try. The first day I gave it to her, she smiled a little stiffly and didn't warm up to it much. I tried it again the next day and found her engaging with it a little more. Over the next few weeks, she entered a phase of the disease that left her anxious and restless. The"kitty" gave her something soft to clutch and the activity features gave her something to focus on. She especially liked worrying the Velcro strip and the wooden beads. In the end, I was so grateful I had purchased it! I would give it five stars except the little pouch of marbles gave way, spilling the marbles out. The seam at the bottom of the pouch split. Using a fabric that didn't fray so much would have made a great deal of difference, as well as double stitching the seams of the pouch.

My grandmother was recently placed in a home due to her dementia, and it has been a difficult transition for her. She was having a really hard time sitting still and was always asking what she was supposed to be doing. She can no longer read or write, so those types of activities weren't an option. I'm a speech therapist and have worked with many patients with dementia. I have never used this product with patients, but I've seen similar items. I bought this in hopes that it would occupy her mind a bring her comfort. This product has been a life saver. Every time I visit, it's sitting in her lap, and she is quietly figiting with the different attachments and textures. It's extremely soft and warm, and very well constructed. The item has held up well over the last month of use. If you're at a loss for how to comfort a loved one, I'd give this a try.

This wonderful Pup fidget toy has brought great happiness and comfort to my Alzheimer’s patient. She holds and cuddles it, fiddles with the ribbons, beads, pouch and ball hidden inside the muff. Often she talks to it and smiles. The Pup is much more cute than the pictures indicate. It has a sweet endearing smile and the head can be moved up and down such as to rest lovingly on one’s hand, or it can even be tucked into the muff as if sleeping. The ears also flap up and have a contrasting color inside. It has a nice little tail too. I’ve noticed my Alzheimer’s patient’s affection and appreciation for the Pup continues to grow, and I would recommend giving it a try for anyone suffering from dementia who fiddles a lot with their hands and may appreciate something friendly and soft to cuddle.

I really was looking forward to this but it was like Giving a dog a stuffed toy. Within minutes my mom took everything off. The hole in the middle makes no sense. Sorry, I really wanted my mom to love it but with her dementia she likes to take things apart.

I purchased this for my mother with dementia. I was concerned how she might respond, so I chose the cat because there are cats at her care facility. I 'framed' it as a muff to keep her hands warm, and as a toy for the cats, which she accepted. She immediately used it as a 'muff', holding it by the inside ball, and would display it to the resident cat. I do think it served as a good distraction in the evening when she sundowned. Unfortunately another resident liked it also, and 'borrowed' it, and managed to remove all of the ribbons, beads, etc. We got the Cat back, and now that the other resident has moved, I will re-introduce it to my mother. Q3 Enterprises was generous enough to provide new accessories without my having to repurchase the cat. I have laundered it - cold water, gentle cycle; it came out beautifully. It is always a challenge to know what will work with our loved ones with dementia, but I encourage others to give these twiddle plushes a try.

I gave this to my father who has Alzheimer's. He said it was very nice, looked at it for a minute, and set it on a table. I left it in front of him during my visit, but, unfortunately, he showed no interest in it. I knew this was a possibility. My mother gave him a Tangle toy, again, no interest. We are still on the search for something that will grab his attention and help keep his hands busy. I gave this 5 stars because it is very high quality, and given to the right person, will definetely keep them engaged. It is soft, warm and has many little things to investigate and mess with.
