    • Incredible, unexpected results
Wow. I mean just… wow. I had total knee replacement surgery and have been struggling mightily to just move around. I “graduated” from a walker to a cane but was still limping and was walking quite gingerly out of fear of my knee buckling. I hit the pain meds, hooked the unit up, found a setting that I liked and sat back to enjoy the experience. I realized that after about a half an hour I was bending my knee without even thinking about it. I had a ton more range of motion than ever, since the operation. The knee exercises are so much easier! After a time, the pain comes back but instead of being 7-9 on the pain scale, it’s down to 4-7. I have 4 electrodes surrounding my knee. The adhesion is excellent; edge to edge with a tab to pull them off as opposed to some I’ve seen with other units where you had to pick at one edge to be able to pull it off. The leads snap on easily but securely without leaving you wondering if they’re going to stay attached. The other end of the leads fit very firmly into the body of the unit as opposed to other units where it almost feels like the plugs were meant for a different unit. The build quality is exceptional, feeling sturdier than my iPhone. Functionally, one of the manufacturers priorities is safety. Changing any setting will reduce the current to the minimum so that if you change the location of the pads you don’t end up hitting a more sensitive area with a much higher current level than desired. Not a good thing, trust’s me… There are dedicated operation buttons for each function as opposed to a D button used to try and navigate an onscreen menu. The buttons look a bit cheap but are actually rock solid. The unit has pattern presets for different areas on the body plus four specific patterns to choose from. The presets do seem to be appropriate for the area they’re used. It also has a lock function that keeps settings from being accident changed while in use. I would have no qualms at all about recommending this to anyone looking for a tens unit with excellent build and functionality. ... show more

I purchased this to relieve lower back muscle strain symptoms. I had no experience with TENS unit relief until I got assistance from a chiropractor years prior for mid-back and neck problems. I'm not a regular visitor to his office, once or twice a year or less. I was always curious about buying one for myself. A friend told me he bought one on line and said it works very well so I decided to give it a try. The device my chiropractor employs is obviously much more industrial than this unit but I can state this is quite comparable. It shipped in short order and came with comprehensive instructions all in a nice cardboard box with a magnetic closure for storage. There is a reference sheet for proper placement of the pads in relation to the affected area you wish to treat. Proper pad placement is a must. I can't stress enough the importance of reading the user's manual completely before you begin. There are multiple options for intensity and rhythm of the modes as well as settings for the duration. It defaults to 20 minutes and you can increase or decrease the duration from there. It did give me relief from my discomfort. I use the same method as my chiropractor. An application of Biofreeze gel (or similar), localized heat, and the TENS unit. This is an effective trifecta to take the edge off and I did it several times a day as I was hurting pretty bad. To the point that lifting my legs while sitting almost caused me to buckle. I also bombed it with 800 mg (prescription dose) of Ibuprofen though I understand that may not be a good option for everyone. This unit packs enough juice to make your muscles visibly flex and jerk when you crank it up to the higher levels, same as the device at my chiropractor's office, but in a much smaller package. On another note, I forgot to register my device for the warranty for over a month but that was not a problem. Their web site was very easy to navigate and my Amazon order number entry populated the necessary fields on the warranty registration page. Numedics promised an extra supply of gel pads for registering my product and they delivered on their promise. My extra pads arrived in short order. I dropped it once, about 24 inches, onto a hard floor. It didn't break and still worked. Maybe I got lucky. I am very satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it to a friend. ... show more
