Features

  • Tackle your pain and inflammation with the power of cold therapy, or turn up the heat to reduce tension and aches. Hyperice X Ambient temperature range is 35F - 115 Hyperice X provides long-lasting, sustained relief without any change in temperature.
  • Hyperice X has an adaptive fit that moves with you freely. Enjoy fully automated, electric contrast therapy at home or on-the-go, with no prep, no ice, and no cords. The Hyperice X device may need to be plugged in before first use.
  • For best results, place your Hyperice X directly on bare skin. You may wear thin, athletic wear if preferred. Place the Hyperice X over knee and align the kneecap ring with your kneecap. Adjust straps until snug and start your session through the Hyperice App.
  • Too big or too small - If the device is too big, use included minimizers by attaching the minimizers to the existing straps and secure. If the device is too small, use the included extenders and attach the extenders in the open loops and secure properly.
  • Using the device on the maximum heat or cold setting requires more power and may possibly shorten the battery life during your usage treatment. Please note that you can use your Hyperice X while it's plugged in to the charging power cord.

  • Terrific on the spot inflammation management
Style: Knee
This is a great device that does what it advertises. The cold is quite cold and the warm is very warm, if not hot. It is great to have for routine treatment of inflammation or relief after workouts. If you have bad knees (ACL, meniscus tear, arthritis, etc) the ability to sit down and immediately have cold or warm therapy is fantastic. While there is certainly a place for ice and compression devices (I have several) this does the trick for short sessions without the hassle of ice cubes. Is a device that you need? No. But, it is a device that is convenient and works in seconds? Yes! The battery is long enough for several sessions and it is easy to plug in to use if you are out of battery life. There are two downsides: 1) there are 3 sensors in the front that cool or warm your knee so your entire knee (front and back will not be treated) 2) if you have short, thicker legs, the device will be tight. Extension straps are included. Some people have commented that their Hyperice X stopped working after a while. For this reason, I purchased the Amazon extended warranty. A small price for peace of mind. If for some reason I lost this device, I would definitely purchase another one. In fact, I’m thinking about getting a second for my other knee. 😀 ... show more

  • Works as designed Works as designed
Style: Knee
This is a rechargeable heat and ice therapy device that wraps around the knee with 3 adjustable Velcro straps. It works by a rechargeable battery as well as being plugged in. It is easier to use the Bluetooth Controls through the app, than it does manually. The battery is at the top of the device. It does get warm during use, but imperceptible on the knee. There are 5 fans that work on cooling a pad on the backside of the unit. It definitely gets ice cold to me. The heat is also quite warm to hot. On the hot setting, it does get quite hot to the point of being uncomfortable but it works extremely well. The beauty is that I can adjust the temperature to my level of comfort. You have the option for heat, cold or combination treatment. I personally like the cold function over heat. During the cold therapy the sound is a very low, like a desktop fan on the lowest setting. The straps adjust easily and there are additional straps for larger sized individuals. I find the item is high effective. It can work on other body parts but won’t stay on the area like it was designed for the knee but it should work on the ankle or foot, just fine. Price is high but there is nothing made quite like this. I find this to be very versatile. Its weight is good enough for travel. It is more versatile than my Ice machine. Definitely recommend it. Update: Nov 2023 I have taken it on a trip to Iceland. It is so nice to have something portable that can do the modalities it does. Now I don’t have to worry about being away from things I used to ease my symptoms, no matter where I travel. Not only can I use this for my knee, but I have used it on my lower back, ankle, and foot, too. I love the versatility, plus the duration of treatment is spot on! ... show more

  • THIS HAS BEEN A GAME CHANGER
Style: Knee
I upgraded from the compression boots to this. I had ran a marathon 2 weeks ago and was experiencing some rad pain in my left knee. I was pushing through my runs when my pain came across when running. I got this device and let me say it has erased my pain within less then 5 hours of having it. The two biggest things I love are the temperature contrast therapy, and the battery life. Shorten your sessions to 15 mins and don’t do the highest or lowest temperature and you will get the most use out of the two. It’s a great device I absolutely recommend for high intensity athletes this is a GAME CHANGER. and so are the compression boots they have! also not so sure about the other knee knee brace they have that’s higher in price but this has been sufficient for me! ... show more

  • Product works great
Style: Knee
At first I was hesitant to buy this because of the price. It felt a little on the high side. But I must say, the product really does get very cold and hot. Way better than using an ice pack than swapping to a heating pad. I have it 4 stars because I wish the battery would last longer but if you leave it plugged in you can in fact still use it. Great project I’d buy it again. Worth the price at the end of the day ... show more

  • Just not worth the price
Style: Knee
The battery life on this is abysmal. It can barely do two routines without shutting down. The app is also lackluster at best. The battery emblem only has full, half, and empty icon so you really never know how much battery you truly have. The cold therapy is neat, but if you do a contrast routine, it will never cool back down to the proper cold level. It’s like it get so hot it can correct back to cold. The hot can be VERY hot, almost burn your skin if you’re not wearing shorts or pants. I just simply can’t recommend this, too many issues. I sent mine back for a return. ... show more

  • Best on the market for portable cold/heat pad
Style: Knee
I bought this as part of my recovery from ACL reconstruction, LCL repair and a partial meniscectomy. So lots of work done on my knee and lots of inflammation to deal with. I started using this about 1.5weeks after my surgery. Before that I was using a full wrap ice machine. I also have full wrap ice packs in the freezer. So I feel I have a good idea on what the different options are. If I'm at home my preference is to use the hyperice X or an ice pack from the freezer. Hyperice is loud when cooling, but it's always ready to go as long as I keep it charged. It can do 3x20min ice cycles at max cold temp. Which is more than enough for me. I usually charge it after 2. Now I still do use my normal ice packs because sometimes it's more convenient depending on where I'm at. However for traveling anywhere, the only option is the hyperice x or similar machine. Now what I do not use anymore is my full ice machine. It is cooler on wheels with a timer and you have to drain and clean it periodically, and it just isn't convenient. I'm not really sure what's up with everybody's complaints on temperature, the hyperice x gets just as cold as either my ice packs or the ice machine. Now the caveat there is I cannot cover the hyperice, it needs good ventilation. So if I'm using it under my desk I need to have 4-5" of clearance or else it doesn't get as cold and you can feel the air from the fans getting warming. However, uncovered it's just noisy. Similar to a small dust buster vacuum. This is for cold only, heat is dead quiet. One thing I haven't tried out too much so far is the contrast therapy, because I'm still not 6weeks out from my surgery. I have fired it up once or twice though. It feels very nice and is an option that nothing other than similar machines can touch. The battery does drop fast with contrast though. You can usually do one 30min contrast session and part of another if you said cold and hot temps that are near the min/max available. Once again not really a problem for me as I'm fine charging between sessions or even using it while plugged in. So biggest down side to the machine is the custom charging adapter. I really wish it was USB C, but instead its a custom 9V/6A block. Battery life could be better, but it would weigh more and cooling and heating takes a lot of power. So I think they made the right trade off (on the battery at least). Another downside was lack of case, but I picked up a shoe bag using in luggage and it fit the hyperice and charger just fine. This is absolutely a luxury item at its current price, but it's worth it for my recovery. I plan on taking it to work and using it in the middle of the day to keep up with knee swelling. Also I plan on taking it on long road trips. It can keep my knee happy and I can charge it via inverter or power bank with ac out. Currently I'm using it while working from home, I can just quickly grab it anytime w/o having to crutch myself to the freezer and back. ... show more

  • Some common major flaws from an otherwise really nice device for cold/hot therapy.
Style: Knee
I'm here because MKBHD recommended this device and he's right, the device is amazing. It works well for cold and hot therapy like magic. However, it's nearly ruined by a few major product design decisions that are really hurting it. - No USB C charging, includes another big brick you need to carry around. Please product designers, STOP DOING THIS NONSENSE. You don't need anything other than USB C in 2025. Stop the endless waste. - Most advanced therapy programs require the app, which is mostly terrible to use, requires a login, and wants all your data. Frankly, this should be illegal, I just want to use your product, I don't need to be tracked, and I don't need an account. You can do some basic features through the single button on the device, but good luck remembering the simon says pattern to get there. Smaller thing worth mentioning. It's top heavy, I've seen some marketing that claims you can walk around. I don't see how that would be possible without it continually sliding down. You're not tethered to power, which is great, but I don't think you'll be doing much walking with it on. ... show more
