First I want to say I noticed reviews complaining about the smell, this thing has a beautiful cedar smell, I wish I could get my whole house to smell like this box. No split, cracked, or chipped pieces, all the wood in good condition. Assembly was a breeze, just a few simple steps, with extra hardware provided, feels sturdy enough for our feral friend. Cat showed up on our doorsteps a week ago crying out, we fed him, now he won’t leave, so I figured might as well get him a house, he seems to love lounging on top, still working on getting him to go to the bed we placed inside the box, he’s a cat he’ll figure it out, it’s only been 30 minutes so can’t complain. Wish I could let him inside but our 2 dogs and current cat don’t seem found of that idea, anyways now he’s got his own little spot. Looks nice outside too, definitely not an eyesore. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought 2 of these for my feral cats catio. Pretty easy to put together but they don’t predrill all the holes. Wood cracks easily if you’re not careful. I didn’t predrill any holes and just went for it. A little cracking happened. The only major confusion,was the hinge. You have to flip it/reverse it and it took me a couple of tries to get the sides properly to line up. I didn’t install the hook closures mainly because I couldnt figure out the orientation. It looks weird on paper and it won’t matter for my cats. The lids pretty heavy. Smells good. You will need a wrench for the nut side(I think it was 10 mm but can’t remember now. And a Philips screwdriver. Hopefully the cats actually use them. ... show more

What I liked about it it came on time, I also like the price, it wasn't so expensive. I also like that it's all natural wood. I assembled it myself it was easy, it says that it takes two people to do it but I managed to do it myself. The holes were perfectly aligned. I don't know about if it's waterproof because I have it indoors. Well as you can see the rabbit loves it. She had one but it was small for her so I decided to upgrade her to this beautiful comfortable wooden Hut. Some people call it a cage or home but I call it a hut for her, she likes to hide into it and sleep in it as well. I'm glad I bought it for her. Money well spent. Will recommend it to family and friends or whoever is interested in getting a new cage or a hut for their pets. ... show more

I purchased this because of the size and construction. It was going to be placed on a covered porch so being waterproof is not a concern. All hardware was included and it was pretty easy to put together although the instruction sheet was vague. The only real issue was the bracket that holds up the top lid - no measurements as to where it is to be mounted and the mounting location is key to the function of the lid. Had to try several mounting points before finding one that would work. The floor floats- that is it just sits in place in the framework of the box. I installed a pressure activated heater pad on the floor and the cord for the heater dropped thru the clearance in the corner of the floor and the box with no drilling required, then covered the heater with a flannel blanket. This is pretty light but it's actually very solid. It is softwood, so don't overtighten screws as you could strip the holes out. The top hinges up for cleaning. On sunny days the cat sits on top and is very happy but not nearly as happy as he is coming out of it on a bitterly cold morning. When it's windy we cover it with a heavy moving blanket to insulate it a bit. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. Cat loves it so I guess that's what matters most. I would buy it again - as a matter of fact I already have purchased a second one. ... show more

The hutch seemed rather sturdy. the wood piece to hold the top open didn't hold much seemed more of a pain to use than its purpose. It seemed to stain easily and didn't seem to keep the inside fully dry in rain. If you plan on using this outdoors please look in to adding some security to the unit yourself as we lost our new bunny recently to prey that was able to open the hutch as another reviewer posted. I wish I had noticed the review prior to purchasing so I could have added security or purchased a different unit. ... show more

Was the easiest little hut to put together took me about 15 minutes to do each on once I started. My chicken ladies love them I got 2 and plan on getting 2 more. I have gotten similar ones but they was a little harder to put together. All I needed for this was a Philips head screwdriver. I like the ideal for the locks on each side great for transporting. The only suggestion I have is .... Can you make one about 3 sizes bigger for my turkey hens. ... show more
